Why aren't you TPing in Rajas Ring?

it's true that Spharai 99 is better than vereng?
just saw someone comment about it saying that Assuming 440 hand-to-hand skill and 366 delay, with at least two attacks per round (guaranteed), DPS math for these would seem to be: 60/366*(3+floor(440*.11)+52) = ~16.88 per fist, or ~33.76 DPS total. The math can get close with impetus down, but smite wins with impetus up by far. Well, not quite. With top-end gear like Toci's Harness for Shijin Spiral, Spharai ties with Vere while Impetus is up if you can make use of the attack difference. It has a small edge with Impetus down.
This is complicated by two factors: How easy it is to maintain aftermath (eg: running between mobs; this negatively impacts Vere), and how easy it is to cap attack (eg: Berserk+Stalwart's+Chaos in VW; this negatively impacts Spharai). Both of those factors can fluctuate a great deal. Overall, the best you could really say is that the two weapons could be considered roughly on par with each other, but that one or the other may have an edge depending on the situation or content. I was saying no to his dps formula.
I'm using your spreadsheet Motenten and I'm assuming sets similar to ones posted (including toci's set), but still have Vere 90 ahead with impetus up. I'm assuming using Spharai 99 using Shijin, which is only close if you leave the ODD Rate field left in (which might be it?).
Otherwise I'm overlooking something. edit: Ok I noticed I forgot to add toci's 3% set bonus for ws too, but playing with all the gear, best I could come up with is (assuming /WAR, Red Curry Bun, Berserk, Impetus, Haste): Code DC Dynamis Mob: Vere90: 324.095 Spharai 99: 312.906 (Vere 99 for Mnkk's comment: 345.161) With Impetus down (going to assume Berserk went down with it) best I could do was: Vere90: 273.967 Spharai 99: 278.428 (Vere99: 293.088) Of course I need to mess with this for higher tier mobs. Very quickly using the same sets and adding atmacites for Pil/Qilin though, looking like same pattern. Quetzalcoatl.Mnkk said: » Spharai 95/99 beats 99 vere in total dmg. My ls mate always beats Ukko war/Vere mnks in parses with his 95 spharai. Quetzalcoatl.Mnkk said: » parses We've still learned nothing. Irika said: I'm using your spreadsheet Motenten and I'm assuming sets similar to ones posted (including toci's set), but still have Vere 90 ahead with impetus up. Since the original question was: Latifah said: it's true that Spharai 99 is better than vereng? I actually assumed both 99 Spharai and 99 Vere. Quote: (assuming /WAR, Red Curry Bun, Berserk, Impetus, Haste): Quote: DC Dynamis Mob: With those buffs, even without Dia, Vere will be hitting capped attack on Dynamis mobs. I did specify "as long as you can make use of the difference in attack". And you generally wouldn't be going /war to Dynamis anyway. Switch subjob to /dnc (which will remove Berserk from the equation), and Spharai easily pulls ahead of the 90 Vere, and is slightly behind 99 Vere with Impetus up, slightly ahead with Impetus down: With Impetus: Spharai: 279.557 Vere 99: 289.759 Vere 90: 270.169 Without Impetus: Spharai: 255.138 Vere 99: 248.951 Vere 90: 231.954 Overall average still favors Vere99 a bit in this case (1.35% ahead), but that's before factoring in any loss of aftermath. 80% aftermath uptime (which will be negatively affected not only by time between mobs, but by TP spent on steps) leads to Vere99 and Spharai99 being tied. A great deal of the difference there could also be made up by the +counter on Spharai, where an extra 0.5% to 1.0% would be fairly easy from the +13 counter rate on them. Change mob to Pil, return to /war, and add Stalwart's (also changed gear a bit, so slightly different base): With Impetus: Spharai: 224.398 Vere 99: 240.765 Vere 90: 223.526 Without Impetus (and Berserk down as well, assuming kept in sync): Spharai: 172.072 Vere 99: 171.025 Vere 90: 158.469 In this case we're again bumping against the attack cap with Spharai, limiting it, while at the same time the crits of Smite are worth a lot more due to high level correction. So here we have several factors favoring Vere, but Spharai 99 still easily beats Vere 90, while Vere 99 wins over Spharai. I heard you can counter mobs that aren't looking at you or via AoE attacks.
I also heard critws don't perform better on high level mobs
Quetzalcoatl.Mnkk said: » Um no. Spharai is only slightly behind with impetus up, but you clowns are over looking the main factor that gives Spharai the land slide victory 'Counter' Prove it and show your work, or leave. Quetzalcoatl.Mnkk said: » As well as 3x DMG proc instead of 2X That's already accounted for (at least for my comparison; Irika might have forgotten on his). 12% triple damage is entered as 24% ODD, which is mathematically the same thing. Quetzalcoatl.Mnkk said: » Gosh w/e, Sirtwitchalot is my proof. He beats 99 Veres in every big fight we do. We tested it by poping 2 Orthus and having each solo Mnk solo their own. Spharai mnk killed his every time while the vere mnk at best had his down to 30%. But this thread has be re-vamped over and over. If your not going to hear anyone's advice then don't bother to ask. K thx. Quetzalcoatl.Mnkk said: » We tested it by poping 2 Orthus and having each solo Mnk solo their own. Solid proof you got there. If you care enough about mnk and are not fighting extreme def mobs that need a crit ws to boost pdif, Spharai impetus down, Vere impetus up. Done.
