It should be noted, Thura/Twilight is not far behind Skadi+1/Patentia.
Basically, its a easily obtainable alternative that requires significantly less time/effort.

The reason why Patentia works and Nusku's doesn't is the STP and Attack on Patentia.

A good set without Skadi+1 would be:
Dagger Dagger Potestas (or Hagniea)
Thura Charis Brutal Suppa
Charis+2 Brego Rajas Epona
Atheling Twilight Thaumas Charis+2

As far as I can tell, you need both Skadi+1 Head/Hands and Patentia to topple this combo.

So until I get Skadi and Patentia I should go for this set-up? This is just a matter of hitting a few reives for bayld for I have the rest of the gear already.

This, I want to know if there is any use for the thurandaut chapeau in a TP set.

Yeah, Thurandaut / Twilight is probably good for starter TP sets, but you'll want to work toward Skadi+1 if you're taking it seriously!

Although I thought I got it coming in behind Nemetona, but Nemetona isn't exactly "Starter"

Wait, really? The Thurandaut head beats out Charis or Ocelo? I really didn't think the 3% DW would be even close.

What gear should I am for to get in Abby for Dancer? I had already posted what gear I currently have and was wondering what else there was to get (besides the +2 Empy, started working on that now) so I can move on to bigger things.

Or as well, since I don't have all that much gil atm, what good AH items to buy for cheap that's better then what I currently have?

The entire AF3+2 is useful for DNC, along with the Charis necklace and Charis feather.

Ya, have both the neck and feather (used for Evis WS) and the +3% DA back piece from Abby. Just trying to make a list of NM to fight for gear, besides all the +2 and Dagger NM. My main issue is, though building up the Empy Dagger, it's getting the 1500 plates to take it past 90, unless once i start doing VW the plates will come @ a decent pace to where I don't have to buy a ton of them as my crafting is still low (30's).

That's better than my +1 Aug of +5 Dmg, +3 Str.

Before I open my mouth again, about all the time I've wasted in the DPS spreadsheet today... If I'm focusing on the new areas/mobs in Adoulin, is Qilin a good baseline 'target'? Or should I be using Ig Alima? Or is there information that I can actually plug in for the specific mobs in question?

I did quite a bit of tinkering in the spreadsheets today, and want to make sure using Qilin wasn't a complete waste of time, before I post about my findings.

Thanks in advance,
Grats on the nice Aug Lithical. I'm hoping for a +2 stone on our next run!

I should get some stats on one of the cricket mobs or something. Not sure I'd use Qilin as a baseline, though it's not -too- bad -- he'd be around the equivalent of an IT xp mob at this point -- however with the changes in att/def, it's probably best to get a new set of baseline values to work with. Plus it's a lot easier with normal mobs than with NMs.

Hmmm... Okay, I'll hold off on the data for now then. I made a list of the sets, and I'll re-plug them in once the new data is available. If you could let me know, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!

One other thing, do the DPS spreadsheets account for the floor of attack speed? For example if I continue to stack Dual Wield gear, will it continue to remove weapon delay no matter what, or will it reach a cap due to the in game cap? Want to make sure I'm not over looking something like this.

IIRC the toads in Rala had like ~470 defense or something! Adoulin mobs are going to be a bit beefier than non-adoulin mobs I think, because they made them stronger in exchange for removing their level correction (hence why they hit SO FREAKING HARD without protect)

Yes, the spreadsheets account for the delay floor. If you continue to add DW gear once you're at that cap, your speed won't change (although your TP per hit will continue to go down due to the order that such things are calculated).

Fernfelling Chapuli
Level 100 (300 xp solo; extrapolated from wiki chart)
Defense 498 (from /check)
Evasion 468 (from /check)
Vit ~110 (4 fStr with 122 str)
Agi ~105 (12% crit rate with 121 dex) [not reliable]

Burrowing Chapuli
Level 102 (400 xp solo; estimated from stat growth)
Defense 515 (from /check)
Evasion 485 (from /check)
Vit ~= 112 (6 fStr with 135 str)
Agi ~= ?? (20% crit rate with 108 dex) [not reliable]

Guesstimating on level for the Burrowing Chapuli. Player stat growth was +5 from 76 to 80, +6 from 81 to 90, and +7 from 91 to 99. If stat growth increased again for 100 to 109, +2 levels would be +16 in stat; an additional +2 (or +1 that rounded) from base stats would give the +17 increase seen between the two samples for defense/evasion.

If that's the case, one could use these values to get a ballpark figure on defense/evasion for higher level mobs (aside from trait bonuses from various mob families). An IT level 110 mob might then have around a 580 defense and 550 evasion.

You can see mob leveks explicitly using battlemod so you don;t need to estimate. I'd be wary of using Adoulin mobs to estimate non-adoulin mobs' statistics for the reason I cited above so it would be worth /checking mobs in Gustav/Boyadha

I'll load battlemod and head to Adoulin when I'm finished to check actual levels of Mobs, but for the time being, I built a very basic/obtainable set as a baseline:
ItemSet 297260

Which should be extremely basic, for players returning or new to Dnc.
If gil is an issue, then Potentia goes to Twilight, Thokcha to... Aluh, but anywho...

Using the previous 'target' Qilin, DPS was 42.747
Based on the numbers Motenten provided, I input the following:
Level 102
Defense 515
Evasion 485
Vit = 115
Agi = 115

and DPS shoots up to 101.970.

So... if this is anywhere near accurate, then clearly all the stuff I did previously will be for naught, but like I said, I saved all the gear sets, and can just re-apply and re-rank them, to post for thoughts/verification/discussion.

Edit: Ceizak
Blanched Mandragora - 100 (T)
Twigtrip Lapinion - 100 (T)
Fernfelling Chapuli - 100 (T)
Careening Twitherym - 100 (T)
Frenzied Mantis - 103 (VT)

Sih Gates
Burrowing Chapuli - 102 (VT)

I'll go deeper in, in a bit.
Heading to dinner at the moment.

Just a note: Using Battlemod, I get Fernfelling Chapuli as level 100, Burrowing Chapuli as level 101 (T) - 102 (VT). What I noted above was the level 101 Burrowing Chapuli (not 102), and the level 102 is:

Defense 534
Evasion 505

So, defense at levels 100-101-102 was 498-515-534.

I'll have to modify the spreadsheets to note Adoulin mobs as not having level correction.

Tree'd... But just checked with battlemod and added above.

How do I alter this level correction in the spreadsheet? I assume that will effect any results I may get.

Awesome, thanks.
I'll have to re-write Xux Legs, Choca Head and the Leisilonu Dagger later on, but for now, using your Chapuli Target, the set posted above now calculates to 109.496 DPS.

PSA for a pretty small group, but I get Exenterator edging out Pyrrhic Kleos if you include all the new gear and assume a 5% attack bonus (assuming the same buffs for both, like AM3).

New to Dnc or Returning Players - DPS sheets and Gear Sets that apply to you!
This is aimed at the new Adoulin Area Mobs.

So, I recently came back, after a short break, about 4-6 months, and when I read the forums, everything is directed at the Amazingly awesome and geared Dnc, which is fine, but not very helpful or easily applied to people like me. So I wanted to add some information for people in situations similar to mine, with a chart that leads me to specific goals, gearwise. Some other Job Threads have levels or tiers of obtainable gear, and I found them really helpful, so I kinda wanted to do that myself, and thought I'd share my results.

Setup used:
Hume
/War
No Food
Haste Samba
Target: Chapuli
WS: Exenerator

Exenterator WS Set:
ItemSet 297534
This set is not super awesome, but it's a small chunk of gil, I'm only posting it for reference, but understand that the WS set will remain constant through all of the DPS data I provide, as to prevent any conflict or confusion. (Understand that adding 1 piece of gear, may actually help your DPS more than the numbers I give, if it applies to both your TP and WS) WS gear sets are pretty straight forward in the DPS sheets and you can play with them all day and get an exact number. Considerable upgrades that are easy to obtain: Thuranduat Legs, Crudelis Belt, Ghillie Earring +1. These three alone show as a 65 damage increase in WS avg.
Justiciar's torque shows as a downgrade on Exenterator to Houyi's, probably due to the need of the 6 Acc.

Our baseline will be the following TP set:
ItemSet 297260
This is pretty easy to obtain, if you're flat broke, Charis Feather can take the place of Potestes. (Note that thus far, Thew Bomblet appears best for TP, Potestas for WS, but if you're only going to use 1 for Inv reasons, Potestas wins)

Part 1: Daggers

*Thokcha is the Str path

Tzustes/Oynos =
Down: 111.938
Up: 137.679
50% Avg: 124.809

I'm to the point now, where unless I'm Tanking as /Nin I don't use Oynos, because I don't like depending on the Haste for Dmg, but when Haste is up, you can clearly see the advantage it offers in DD, and extremely so for Utsusemi timers. Also in certain situations where you obtain haste from someone, then it's obvious that Oynos is useless. I use 50% activation as a guess, I can't find any data on BG or Wiki, but didn't look terribly hard. As long as it procs once every 3 minutes, (since the haste lasts 3 minutes) then 50% activation is a reasonable calculation for DPS.

Tzustes/Tzustes = 123.801
Aluh/Pugiunculus = 124.086
Aluh/Tzustes = 124.198
Thokcha/Pugiunculus = 125.071
Tzustes/Thokcha = 126.320
Aluh/Thokcha = 127.363
Tzustes/Pugiunculus = 127.570
Tzustes+1/Thokcha(Dex) = 128.141
Tzustes+1/Tzustes = 128.497
Tzustes+1/Twashtar(85) = 128.788
Thokcha(Dex)/Pugiunculus = 130.674
Tzustes+1/Thokcha = 131.048
Tzustes+1/Tzustes+1 = 133.200
Tzustes+1/Pugiunculus = 133.285
~
No Augment (52/183)
Leisilonu/Thokcha = 119.171
Leisilonu/Twashtar(85) = 119.609
Leisilonu/Pugiunculus = 121.367
Leisilonu/Tzustes = 121.950
Leisilonu/Tzustes+1 = 126.957

Main Hand Leisilonu, Off Handing NQ Tzustes for all the following:
Dmg +2 to match Tzustesx2 = 123.729
Dmg +4 to match Thokcha/Tzustes = 125.508
Dmg +7 to match +1/Tzustes = 128.176
Dmg +11 to beat +1/Thokcha = 131.734
Dmg +13 to Beat +1/Pug = 133.513

I’ll have to play with 85 Twashtars aftermath in main hand to get a comparison to some of these. Still figuring that part out.

Offhand the +1 and you can beat them easier, but +10 Damage is obtainable on Leisilonu with a +1 Ghastly Stone, and the +2 is rumored to add even more. (My +2, only gave +9) Keep in mind, this is also ignoring the additional stats, like Dex, Str, Crit, or whatever else can show up on the Dagger.

Pugiunculus is an interesting dagger.
It's benefits (if any) will greatly depend on your gear set.

I'll get into this more later but for now:
I used my current Leisilonu for my Main Hand (Dmg +9, Dex +5)
And then used Tzustes +1 vs Pugiunculus offhand:
With the exact setup listed above, Tzustes +1 wins by 4 DPS
Twilight to Patentia: Tzustes +1 wins by 2 DPS (Applied to all below)
Charis Tights +2 to Etoile Tights +2: Tzustes +1 wins by .35 DPS
Charis/Etoile Tights +2 to Skadi +1 Legs: Tzustes +1 wins by 1.5 DPS
Charis/Etoile Tights +2 to Thaumas Legs: Pugiunculus wins by 4.5 DPS

Notes:

For Exenterator, I'd expect you to use the Thurandaut legs as well, since you're using Thurandaut body/hands.

Also, the super-cheap Crudelis Belt should be better than the (far more expensive) Windbuffet Belt.

Thirdly, if you're being conservative on money spent, I'd also expect it to use the NQ Ocelomeh head instead of the HQ.

So with the battle adjustments/Adoulin mobs, it's better to go full AGI on exenterator, or is that more focused at "budget-builds"? I was getting better DPS with a more attack-focused build before.

Notes #2:

Should be using Tzustes/Thokcha instead of Thokcha/Tzustes.

Note: I added a level 100 Chapuli (ie: stuff you might be soloing in Ceizak) to get rid of the acc differential. Used that for other comparisons. Otherwise you need to factor in a dex Thokcha as well, since it does better than a str Thokcha vs the level 102 Chapuli.

You don't have Aluh/Thokcha listed. I have it on par with Tzustes +1/Thokcha and Tzustes +1/Tzustes +1 (both of which are nearly identical on my comparison sets, though they're slightly different on yours). Only thing ahead of it Tzustes +1/Pugi.

If I go back to the level 102 Chapuli, Twashtar 85 gains a lot relative to the other sets (dex = acc), and dex Thokcha/Pugi is the top combo, a tiny bit ahead of Tzustes +1/Pugi.

Nothing's really changed in that regard. In general, +10 agi is worth about the same as +25 attack, so if the ratio is substantially more in one direction or the other, go with that stat.

For example, 17 agi on Thurandaut legs is roughly equivalent to 43 attack. The 18 att on Tumbler Trunks clearly doesn't match up to that, so you'd go with the agi option.

Likewise, a 6 agi neck beats a gorget, but the 4 str/15 att on Justiciar's beats 6 agi (6 agi ~= 15 att, so Justiciar's wins by about 4 str).
