The Last Dance: Gearing Paradigms for a New Age
(I changed it a little since I didn't include STR steps on accident due to the pieces not having STR, do you mean step 4 now?)

Yeah step 4 now
Here's another example:
Step 4 happens because 3 attack will generally outperform 1 agi

If they were about equivalent I would understand why you could toss them both out, but with one being superior to the other I don't get why you would get rid of all the attack and some of the agi. It was 7 attack.
floor(7/3) = 2 Offline

Bismarck.Sylow said: » It was 7 attack. floor(7/3) = 2 Sorry yeah my bad. I guess I just didn't understand the floor thing. It's just one of those formulas that exist as a mechanic? Basically you just end up comparing everything to AGI, since AGI is easy to mess with (in most cases +1 AGI = +1 base dmg)
~4 STR = +1 base damage so +4STR can be equated to +1 AGI and cancelled out as AGI from the right. ~3 Attack will yield the same as +1 SMG so +3 Attack can be cancelled out as AGI from the right. Floor basically means you throw out any fractional parts and only use the integer portion.
There's also no real useful way to deal with things like +DA and +TA, so you just kind of have to guess with those.
I can however tell you that +7 AGI (Stormsoul Ring) is roughly even to slightly better than (depending on circumstance circumstances) to Epona's Ring.
Why are people not noticing athos's gloves at all lol? Are they bad or something for ws?
Athos are the clear winner (for average WS dmg), but I was asked to compare two specific items.
Cool :D haha i got a pair of those and yes always macro those charis bangles +2 for skill chain.

First of all, bear with me, I got a headache and might just be missing the totally obvious here. But since I'm trying to get a firm grasp on whatever's said in here, here goes: What was that blue line in that graph that you 2, Silow + Byrth, were talking about on page 32 of this thread? Since the number was so low and ppl had been talking about DNC/xx in Dyna, was that the number of odds you have for getting white !!? Or what was that about. Please enlighten me and keep up the great work, it's a fun + educational read and can't thank you guys enough for your testing + work.
That's your probability (Y) of evading X attacks in a row assuming capped evasion.
Probability (Y) of evading X consecutive attacks for different evasion rates Some questions from a new Dancer, who is working toward those goal TP sets on the first page:
1) Is Exenterator worth it for Dancer without Twashtar (if that even matters)? I'm pretty sold on Req. (Blue Mage), Shijin (Monk), and have my doubts on Resolution (Warrior/Dark Knight) because I'm never on either job, really. Fully merited all three though already; I should have thought ahead. 2) I don't voidwatch, at all, ever. Would Etoile +2 body be a decent WS piece for the DEX/CHR modified ws's (i.e. not Exenterator), or is there something else I should be looking at? For reference, I play DNC in Abyssea when we don't really need procs, Dynamis, and lolEinherjar. Exenterator is awesome. Whether it is more awesome than Resolution depends how much you play the different jobs. Having Twashtar has no effect on it at all.
Etoile Body +2 is a good WS piece for PK and Evisceration. Charis +2 is likely going to be better for Dancing Edge. Thanks for the advice, although that brings up another question. I generally play DNC for the skillchains (PK<->Evisc) making full use of Reverse Flourish every time. How would Exenterator change that playstyle? Is it just a ws to use when a skillchain is overkill and/or when skillchaining with other people?
Depending how good your WS gear is, Evisceration -> Exenterator for Fragmentation skillchain may surpass the damage of PK -> Evisceration. Also, because your Thief friend uses Evisceration, you can skillchain off him and the damage will flow a little smoother.
As long as your WS gear is decent, it should surpass PK --> Evis. The only thing that might put PK <--> Evis ahead are:
1.) Nightmare Hippogryphs resist Fragmentation (that's fine, they don't have much HP so WF --> Exenterator takes care of them) 2.) Darkness SC can get a bonus from the weather in Dynamis. In regard to point 2, I think I have posted this before but:
http://wiki.bluegartr.com/bg/Category:Skillchain#Skillchain_Damage_Element http://wiki.bluegartr.com/bg/Darkness Unfortunately, Darkness is the lowest priority element. Unless you have some kind of Darkness MAcc (Archon Ring) I am not sure that you can force it. Even then, you would be sacrificing two slots (ring and waist) for a consistent +25% skillchain damage. Well, then I retract point 2!
Thanks for the info, guys. I think I'll de-merit Resolution and raise Exenterator when I get the chance, since I never play/enjoy WAR.
Don't laugh :(, but this is my starting point for DNC. Which upgrades should I shoot for first, in your opinion? Aside from Brego Gloves, I'm giving all my gil to my girlfriend to fund her (pretty close to done, actually) Mjollnir. And this is what I'm looking at for possibly Exenterator. I don't have the neck, legs, or feet, Charis hands are currently only +1, and I don't have a Denali Jacket yet. My first goals for this are to run Nyzul a bit and fight Karkadann for the legs. I might just deal with Lithe boots (lol, I know) and a gorget until that Mjollnir is done. Thoughts? [edit] Oh, and the daggers... I'm currently using Oynos/Yata (1% crit off from being max, max dmg+). I'll be working on a STR Thokcha. For TP set, you should go to the 3rd post of the thread (DNC101: The TP Phase).
Crudelis belt is cheap and is generally better for exenterator than Anguinus. Potestas will be easier to farm now that respawn in UDT is 5 mins instead of 15. If you're not doing Empyrean or Mythic, and don't have a Coruscanti, then your best bet is really do to 2x STR Thokcha. There's no reason to keep Oynos on after haste procs.
I really don't feel like maing a STR dagger due to the rarity of fire weather but might not have a choice.....
99% if I'm on dnc I'm Twashtar/Fusetto (TP Bonus) Which doesn't really do much other then for Rudra and maybe Aeolian Edge. Guess need to make a sub-hand dagger for damage. >< It's not something that you make overnight, but it's not like killing 100 mobs for a few firesdays is particularly difficult. Abyssea is your friend.
