I haven't really noticed a difference, but I also haven't given it much thought.

They dropped the "II"s from the ends of all the descriptions, but the increased effects are still there. I bet it gives more MAcc, but we will probably never know how much.

It kind of looked to me like Etoile+2 were enhancing jig duration further, but I didn't bother to formally test it.

And feet+2 should enhance step accuracy further.

Enhanced jig should be easy, actually. One chocobo jig would be enough. I can do that tonight if you don't.

I tested these as soon as I got them, chocobo was still at 3 min.
Unless you have to have the 2.5 version, I don't see any of the "II" effects.

I do have the 2.5 version, but it shouldn't be different in that regard. That's odd. Many of the other things that said "II" did increase or change (like SAM hands, WAR feet, DRK feet, MNK hands, etc.)

Damn, I hadn't even thought about that.

I put it in Motenten's spreadsheets though and it appears to be the superior option for Dancing Edge, inferior to Ambusher's for Exenterator, and inferior to Athos/Tumbler for Evisceration.

Although dropping Potestas on Dancing edge and using Charis Feather + Tumbler Trunks instead of Potestas + Tumbler Trunks beats out Potestas+Etoile+2, but Charis+Etoile+2 loses to all of them >_>

Too sleepy to draw a conclusion from that.

It is just based on how much base damage it adds. I will probably not use it because the damage upgrade is likely minor/nonexistent and it adds another complexity layer to my spellcast. =P

I am hoping to have a lite-version of my spellcast out tonight. Customization is nice, but it had a ton of options I wasn't using and spellcast really has trouble with complicated set names.

Think I'm ready to ask my slew of questions now:

Justiciar's torque: should I be using it for anything other than PK and EXE? Is pairing it with rancor mantle that much better than rancor collar + atheling? (don't have rancor mantle yet, but just want to make sure before I put down the gil for it)

Artful belt +1 or Prosilio belt have any use anywhere?

Kacura leggings +1 for PK/EVIS and Athos for EXE? Athos have any other use?

What's the hierarchy of Cuauhtli headpiece +1 vs Aias bonnet vs Kacura cap +1 vs Oce and Oce+1 on evis?

Prosilio, no.
Artful belt +1 is the Rudra's belt of choice if you have berserk up.

Justiciar's Torque should be your WS neck on every WS now. Pairing it with Rancor Mantle is better than using Rancor+Atheling. 4 STR and like 14 attack better, minus 3% DA.

Those are both attractive belt options, but not enough. Artful +1 gives 4 DEX on Rudra's in exchange for 10 attack. Maybe good for stacked?
Prosilio looks good, but I am leery of its -DA%. If we use the same metric as above, this is about 15 attack and 9 STR better and we lose 6% DA from Anguinus.

Kacura +1 for PK for sure. I would suspect Athos's boots win for Evisc, especially if they are your second Athos's piece.

Cua +1 is probably the best WS head for Evisc, Dancing Edge, and PK. Oce +1 is good for stacked Rudra's and Exenterator.

It's weird, I get Oce+1 winning unless your attack is reallllly low. I think the issue is that most WS sets are getting enough STR with Thokcha + Toci that fSTR starts to cap.

I similarly get Athos edging out Kacura+1 feet, probably for the same reason: low weapon rank.

So otherwise, stick with Cuch for evis? (dont have Ruds ; ;)

No Toci yet, and currently saving up for Oce+1 and Cuauh +1. Just trying to figure out what to use until I get each of those. Thinking to keep Aias > NQ Oce then depending on which is up at the time I have the gil: Aias < Cuauh+1 < Oce +1?

I imagine that it depends specifically on what your DEX values are before Oce. +1.

Even with capped fSTR, it's basically 5 DEX vs. 9~10 attack. 30% DEX mods (Evisc, DE, PK) are approximately +1 base damage every 4 DEX (due to alpha). I would bet you are falling on an edge and getting 2 base damage. I bet if you reworked the analysis on a different race (different base DEX) you would end up with a different answer.

Some quick notes before I head out for class:

Kindred in Dyna-Xarc and Tav have incredibly high defense compared to other mobs of their level.

Nightmare Raven in Dynamis-Beaucedine have low defense, but incredibly high evasion compared to other mobs of their level (but don't seem to triple attack).

Yeah, when I do the math myself, it seems to make C+1 win. It's adding in the triple attack set bonus that actually pushed it forward over C+1, though.

Well, after my hundredth Toci's-less Pil last night, I am excluding Toci's from my sets. Four more Pils and I'll cap Exenterator! Then I will have to consider whether or not I want to continue with his ***.

My summoner has gotten quite a few skill levels, at least.

In some threa I had calculated that you need to do 200something(or some other annoying number) pils to get a 50% chance at the drop. I don't have a calculator on me because I don't do math that involves actual numbers anymore.

0.995^x = 0.5

It's that x!

If only wolframalpha worked well on my phone.
