I actually just looked it up, and it looks like real sugar in coke may not be far off here in the U.S. after all. Apparently, because of demand for Corn for conversion to Ethanol, the price is rising on the High Fructose Corn Syrup, and real sugar may become cheaper in the long run.

well I had to call out work wed and thurs cause my kid had bad allergies.

My boss called me yesterday and says "Um are you feeling ok, are you really sick?"

Me> "Yea I'm ok why? I'll be in tomorrow."

Boss> "Well if you feel really terrible tomorrow...DON'T COME IN!"

Me> "LOL ok why, I feel fine."

Boss> "Well cause we got a memo about this outbreak.."

Me> "Let me guess, the swine flu? LMAO" (Just so you know I was really laughing on the phone so was my boss.)

Boss> "Well its just some memo from the French and would want us to take precautions."

Me> (Still laughing) "LOL ok, well I'm fine so I'll be in."

My sister-in-law is dealing with the same ***right now, kinda. She's an insurance rep. for the University of Wisconsin, works in a big office building with like hundreds of other people, and I guess a couple people just came back from a vacation to somewhere in Mexico recently. The whole place is tripping balls even though they're not even freaking sick, been like 3 memos already, and call-ins are at an all-time high due to people afraid to come in, thinking they're going to catch Swine Flu and immediately *** die, like it's the Black Death or something lol.

My sister-in-law is quite irate about the whole situation, as of course she needs to pick up the slack for the stupid people. It just amazes me, I mean, these people handle our health insurance for Christ's sake...
