[Dev] Reducing Spawn Timer for all HNM's
I wish my life was so insignificant that I could spend that long every day camping HNMs then have time to do other crap ingame.
I'd like to see the spawn conditions for Za'Dha Adamantking changed. An easy solo, but camping the repetitive Diamond for days at a time can be a bit taxing. However, I imagine that if it were, the Raise III scroll would plummet in price.

Well he's considered an HNM by SE so hopefully they will include him Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but in my own opinion... I'd like something to show for the 6 to 9 hours a day I play (call me lifeless all you want, I really don't care.) above the items obtained by someone who can play for 1 to 2 hours a day or less. It's not about being casual or hardcore even. You get paid in money to go to work, I want to be paid in elite gear to spend all day on FFXI. It's just what I happen to care about more.

If you're not achieving more than someone who spends a fraction of the time you do playing, that is your problem. To get then best gear I can and have fun along the way. Don't get me wrong, I do like the game now, but I did like it more before easy mode. I also believe this easy mode is just a stop gap filler before 99 is fully flushed out and get back to the insanely long time sinks the FF franchise is known for. The FF franchise? Or XI? Because I don't remember camping mobs in other FF games for hours at a time and getting nothing for it.
The one exception was 12 I think, first FF game (aside from 11) that had low drop rates for whatever the *** reason.
Yea was 12. some of the hunts had absurdly low drop rates as where if you didnt get what you wanted from it the first and only time you get to kill the thing, you would have to restart the game and try again >.>
EDIT: On topic, I do enjoy camping HNMs and outclaiming the other 15ppl sometimes. But i think a better way would be to just have the timed spawn happen like normal and add a pop item ability too. Its not like very much of the gear is amazing nowadays. People just want some of the gear because at 75 it was sort of like "Legendary" gear. Atleast thats why i wanted my abody/ebody/ridill! Yea that was *** stupid lol

Im not one for replaying a game for a single item. While the idea of having to pick one set for ballista is interesting and forces players to optimize, it also makes the PvP system in this game a bit of a fringe event for players in my opinion. And having to go to a separate zone for it is meh.
I think it would be a lot of fun to have a one on one system that had gear swaps unlocked. But I do see the blinking being a huge problem for just staying engaged with your opponent. It would be pretty fun to have a duel system you could use to just challenge players anywhere, or at least in cities. Even if the gear was locked, being able to smack at each other in front of random spectators would be fun. Key word here FUN. Open PvP is just a terrible idea. Reminds me of that south park episode, and there is no limit of asshats in this game that would love to troll people just killing anyone that came across their path. I agree with this, there is no reason that you could not have both. Can either happen to get a freebie if you are lucky and come across the time spawn, or have a tangible means to work towards a goal, even if it costs some time and money. Topicbans issued. That's enough of that.

I think one set of gear only is better than unlimited sets for PvP. This requires players to specialise and think about how to build themselves to deal with the majority of encounters and forced to avoid certain engagements, whereas allowing full gearswaps gives considerable bias to the player with the better gear (there should be some advantage to having better gear of course, but the use of different sets means there shouldn't be a universal best set, and a weaker set that is designed to beat your stronger set could then in theory beat you. As for open world PvP, from my experience at least it isn't anywhere near as bad as you might expect. It would be difficult to implement in FFXI due to how the game's system works and how the maps are laid out, but I found I didn't actually get trolled much in PvP games, and it actually makes standard exploration and such more exciting. For example: You go to farm some Briareus Helms. What's going to happen that is unexpected? Basically precious little. Now you go to farm it in some mythical open world pvp area; you have to keep watching your back! You never know when you might be ambushed by someone or a group and likewise you could prey on other people. It just keeps things more dynamic I find. Bahamut.Krizz said: » Topicbans issued.
