On a related note, does anyone know if by putting one of those quaint little warnings that companies etc. have been adding to their e-mails IE: This e-mail is intended for the above recipient yadda, yadda. onto your facebook (or the like) if it allows you to then sue the pants off anyone who takes one of your posts and uses it without your permission? It would be really handy for reining in those nosy employers etc.

here's the thing people don't get: anything on the internet is accessible by anyone. if you are applying for an office job that has standards and what not maybe you shouldn't put crazy videos and pictures of yourself on the internet. he did kinda ask for it.

Doubt it, those emails are generally sent internally, so technically they should never show up in the "outside world". I'm sure, even with a disclaimer, a lawyer could argue that facebook, myspace, etc are public forums, and those rights don't apply.

There's been a few teachers I've read about within the last few months that got ***canned just for posting pictures of themselves getting drunk online. A cop just got suspended a few weeks ago for twittering "gonna take a nap" or some ***like that when he was ON DUTY lol. (some guy even twittered back "aren't you supposed to be keeping the streets safe?"...

So yeah, gotta be careful if you have a "real" job ^^
