PETA Seriously... going after mario..
Cerberus.Rayik said: » Sylph.Keriam said: » Sure. Take care, Powerslave. I made my point, that their causes are important, and you realized that your stupid posts can't change that fact. Adios. Opinions are facts now? Sweet. my opinion of peta is that they're a lame organization of hypocrite haters. I afk for a few minutes to pay attention in class and come back to this...
PETA is a crap organization, trolls will be trolls. Educating the masses is one thing but the things they actually do are barbaric. Spilling blood over people because they eat/sell meat products, going after a video game icon because of a pixelated suit, I mean it doesnt stop with them.
If you read an interview with Ingrid Newkirk (a co-founder of PETA) she said that when she dies that: "she has asked that her skin be turned into wallets, her feet into umbrella stands, and her flesh into "Newkirk Nuggets," then grilled on a barbecue." I understand her point, but come on thats a bit over the top. I think veganism/vegetarianism is a fine choice in life, but dont push your beliefs on people because you think its wrong. Since the beginning of time, people have depended on animals to live. Get over it and move on. Cerberus.Sevvy said: » Educating the masses is one thing but the things they actually do are barbaric. They have a hidden agenda. They don't give two shits about saving animals. Cerberus.Rayik said: » If they actually meant anything they've said or done, that'd be one thing. But they are hypocrites. Proof that society is getting dumber by the minute.

> taking PETA seriously > ISFHYGDDT Case in point: "fact" taken from another one of their parody games, Super Tofu Boy. Quote: "Red meat can lead to impotence, obesity, and loss of girlfriend." edit - Link, for the bored: http://features.peta.org/super-meat-boy-parody/ Are some of you actually afraid for the game? You don't have to be worried, you know, this isn't going to go anywhere. It's just a publicity stunt probably. So you can stop repeating eachother now about how venomously you hate PETA.

Because face it marios a part of everyone's childhood and just about everyone has found memorys of playing the games.
PETA = people for the ethical treatment of animals.
Quote: PETA focuses its attention on the four areas in which the largest numbers of animals suffer the most intensely for the longest periods of time: on factory farms, in the clothing trade, in laboratories, and in the entertainment industry. We also work on a variety of other issues, including the cruel killing of beavers, birds, and other "pests" as well as cruelty to domesticated animals. K guess I can't have food from animals. guess I can't have clothes made from animal products. guess we can't test cures for diseases. guess we can't have animal deaths in movies/games/other media. guess we can't hunt birds or stop destructive beavers. and guess we can't kill them toilet spiders =/ only thing that peta should do is focusing its attention on domestic animal cruelty Fenrir.Crystenne said: » so uh... anyone buying this? You know what I find funny (by funny I mean ironically sad) is you should read up on Newkirk sometime. She used to work in at some animal shelter and was horrified by what she saw there. Nowadays she kills more animals than she saves.
There's also her common hypocrisy on animal testing for diabetes stuff, but says it's only needed for her (no one else) so she can fight for the animals, etc. Slightly off topic, but I've read some of the responses in here.
I don't get why humans in general think they're above everything else on this planet. We treat other living things poorly simply because we can and it's convenient for us. Sylph.Keriam said: » Oh, PETA bashing? No surprise there. I wouldn't expect many enlightened minds around these parts to understand the importance of their organization. I realized when the game was released that it wasn't a serious protest against Mario. If you thought that, you need your head examined. It probably came about because someone there said: "We need a flash game to promote our current anti-fur campaign!" "Well, what about Mario? He's always in animal suits." "GREAT! Make that into a flash game!" For the record though, animal lives > human lives. There are too many humans, anyway. Maybe PETA should go after the animals that eat other animals in the wild for sustenance. I mean, that's gotta be evil too, right?!
Honestly, the people who actually torture their pets are different. Going after the people who only eat / use animals to live are not being cruel to animals, I don't know where they get that from. I won't eat veal personally because of how it's produced. I feel that it's cruel to keep something in a small kennel for it's short life. I won't eat veal personally because of how it's produced. I feel that it's cruel to keep something in a small kennel for it's short life. Fair enough. However, we've had to use animals to survive ever since homo sapiens popped up 200,000 years ago. Even before that as earlier homonid species, we hunted. So what's the problem now? Is it just because we've changed how we procure the meat? Pretty much, for me at least. I eat meat though.
I've thought about going vegetarian, but meat is too tasty :/ Every time I hear or see the word vegetarian or vegan I crave meat. Almost to the point of where I need it now, like all meat is suddenly going to disappear.
I hear you guys on veal, never touched the stuff, never will. The fact that based on their history and suddenly jumping out to declare this whole fiasco as a "joke", doesn't sit well with me.
If you knew anything of their previous stunts years back you would know that it would be virtually impossible to distinguish something like this from being a perfectly serious legit problem in their eyes, and a practical joke. If anything, I think they jumped out to call it a joke to save their *** from massive public backlash. But I'm sure they're used to that anyways from the stupid ***they do on a regular basis. The worst part of it all is, their practices, their method of madness is downright counter-productive to their cause. If they really had intentions of saving animals, funding celebrities for their advertised propaganda, supporting known terrorist groups, and attacking fictitious and dubious accounts of pseudo-animal abuse isn't the best way to go about doing it. All they've managed to do is destroy vital research for the health of human lives, waste millions on celebrities that already have millions, and alienate anyone that has enjoyed a form of media that involves some vague sense of animals that aren't used for typical purposes. If you honestly want to support animals, donate to the ASPCA, not some brain dead group like PETA. Their brains must be on the fritz from that lack of Omega Fatty Acids that would come from fish. But they can't even acknowledge that humans are omnivores. A human life is greater than an animal life simply because a human can offer more to the world than an animal can ever hope to.
All animals know to do is act on their instinct, eat, sleep, mate blah blah blah. As for PETA, I have never taken them seriously and I never will.
