Again, Charged Whisker already one shots every pull. Thunderbolt is less effective than Charged Whisker in terms of damage.

How about a situation where you're waiting on recast for Charged Whisker? The recast is over a minute anyway. If you still have buffs on and there's another group of monsters nearby, what's to lose from grabbing more while recast is down? I'd run into this problem quite a few times when I'd have someone opening chests for me during my BLU-cleaves.

Whirl of Rage, Thermal Pulse, Dream Flower again?

In these situations it would be appropriate, but neither Thunderbolt nor, presumably, Gates of Hades will ever replace it as Charged Whisker already does the job with maximum efficiency.

Also, Thermal Pulse already fills this gap.

Honestly, a second AoE nuke for our 5 min JA is puzzling. I would have preferred a unique type of spell. Maybe I'm alone in that regard.

Thermal Pulse is weaker than CW and requires set points. Even so, it'd be slower than my suggestion in the event that GoH is as strong as CW. I just don't see why people are writing the spell off for BLU-burns when it's a possible welcome addition and not just some "novelty spell".

What are you losing by putting up 3 set points for Thermal Pulse? 100% of the time when I'm cleaving I have over 20~30 points left just for stat bonuses. I can assure you that losing 1STR and 1DEX isn't diminishing your ability to one shot enemies.

Thunderbolt isn't as strong as Charged Whisker, I have no reason to believe that Gates of Hades will be either.

I have reason to believe it. I mean, look at how long the stun duration on Thunderbolt is. It's only natural that they'd jack up either the initial damage or burn damage on Gates of Hades. Either that or they reduce casting time or MP by a ton. But I guess we'll just have to see.

I do agree with you that I'd rather see some kind of unique spell than just some other AoE nuke. There are so many cool abilities that HNMs have.

The stun duration isn't really that special, and is meaningless in a burn situation where you could be one shotting the mobs anyways. Same can be said for the burn effect on GoH.

And yes, with the amount of spells possible from HNMs they seem to be having difficulty choosing the ones that would actually be useful.

SE molds spells to what they want to give blu. Look at battery charge. If they want to do a more powerful nuke, they'll balance it that way, if they want it a fire spell, they'll do that, if they want it aoe or single target even if the original is not, they'll do it. If they don't want to be good, they'll nerf the ever living hell out of it in some form or another. ie heavy strike...

at some point there is going to be a freak resist or something...its more of a "just in case you dont" not a "your going to so why not"

I know how to play my BLU btw, been playing since the 75 cap and ive become quite good at knowing how to get those Epeen numbers.

brunwulfs einherjar ls? the one that had a gather together at 10 pm and i warped home at midnite? and couldnt even win a t2? yeah, i should have left right away, but i actually stuck around for 15k ichor, got a grand total of 2 feathers, then talked to him, got told 2 hours was fine for a 30 min event, then left.

cool, but on most things i am NOT wrong.

and its cool how you downplay all that but when it comes to me getting kicked from linkshells for petty squabbles its totally like i was an utter douche about everything.

Honestly I would've much preferred something along the lines of Dragon Breath that had a really nice and high modifier for single target spike damage, or something, as what I'm seeing here (bar Bulwark) look like they won't be getting much use. As most people have stated already, expectations are low for GoH, but who knows, maybe it'll give a noticeable DoT effect.
