Fighting Fellow Mods

Does your fighting fellow NPC ever piss you off when they tell you "oops im almost out of magic" and your fixing to get owned.
It seems that my healer style NPC burns MP like it grows on trees. Constant Protect, haste, shell etc. repeatedly.
This seems to where her MP down and when u need her to heal, just not enough of it.
It would be nice if u could customize her casting or fighting pattern.
If anyone has good ideas for improving your Fighting Fellow and making them more efficient please post it here.
