I think we can all agree that Aurore head looks the best when fishing.
The correct hat to wear while fishing is a No 3 garland.
Snake Head ftw! Aw yeah! Guide Beret ftw. Offline

If you're the uber superstitious type like me, you'll wear anything remotely relating to "sea" or "water" effects, in the irrational hope that they grant some sort of hidden fishing effect.
Head: Risky Patch - since its "piratey" and comes from Zaldon and the "Inside The Belly" quest and fishing related MMM rewards. Neck: Sand Charm - since it is related to pirates and a sea related quest/storyline. Of course, I'm probably the only one still carrying the 4 Leaf Mandy Bud, Lucky Egg, and Wild Rabbit Tail (even though SE has evasively denied any hidden effects related to these items). The "logic" of the superstitious dictates that if you have nothing to lose, and even there's only a remote possibility that any such luck/or/bad luck can be incurred, why the hell not? I'd would probably wear the Rain Hat for the same irrational reasons, but that requires time and energy, and luckily, my laziness traits exceed my superstitious traits. Although I am curious: since I understand SCH's will gain the regen effect the hat grants in rainy weather by casting weather effects on themselves. Many fishermen believe bite rates improve in rainy weather, making me wonder whether if I wore the hat as SCH and did just this, could my bite rates improve in a similar fashion? *Note that the above is entirely far fetched speculation, without any evidence or data whatsoever. Just sea serpent rumors and old wives tales... @Fenrir.Badaboom Don't forget your Millionaire Desk!
Also! Is a must! I don't know about you, but everytime I fish I make sure to eat Prize Angler Stewpot. Does anybody know the stats and effects yet on Prize Angler Stewpot?

A reason to get Stewpot Mastery key item! Thanks Upbeat! :-) but unfortunately, would require too much of an expenditure of time and gil, conflicting with my personal "logic of the superstitious" philosophy ("if it doesn't cost anything, why the hell not?"). But I bet propagating a fishing superstition like that could snag you a nice increase on sales of your stewpots on your server. That wouldn't be your underlying intention, now would it?? ;-) Fenrir.Badaboom said: » Of course, I'm probably the only one still carrying the 4 Leaf Mandy Bud, Lucky Egg, and Wild Rabbit Tail (even though SE has evasively denied any hidden effects related to these items). Then it is decided. I will get a crap ton of gil and purchase the most expensive single item I will ever buy. /sigh lol, you should put a lil moat in every now and then to get a free 4 mil eventually >.>

Good to hear from an actual fisherman. Then it is decided. I will get a crap ton of gil and purchase the most expensive single item I will ever buy. /sigh I finished fishing, and started to make gil. It was going good, earning quite a bit off of sole (AH price was crazy, like 40k a stack or something), but as I made gil the price kept rising. I refused to join a linkshell just to have them give me the body for being a member (a few of my friends back then were doing that, felt it was cheap). I wanted to earn that body. I eventually bought it for 14,360,000 gil. It is to this day the most expensive item that I have purchased. And I sold that body for 350k gil after I bought my aristocrats for 1.8 mil. /endboringstory Offline

I guess 3 mil isn't all that much now compared to back then. Offline

Workin' on it though. All for Lu Shang. I meant compared to back then, not the general public lol.
If I tried crazy hard then I could make that... I'd rather have fun though and chill playing the game. Offline

Quetzalcoatl.Xueye said: » Any of you quetz people looking to buy Ebisu fish? Good way to find out is bazaar a few next to zaldon. I've sold more that way than the AH, and made arrangements with people that way as well. I guess I'll stop lurking and post. ^^
The boyfriend and I were talking a lot about fishing today. I lent him my lu to skill up with while I camped AH like a madman for Gugrusaurus and Lik. Looking at all the different types of fish on the list, we got to wondering: What do some of these colorful and interesting fish taste like? Sure they go into our sushi dishes, tacos, kabobs,(and for you mithras out there, straight from the fishtanks).. but which ones do you think would be your favorite if you were to actually eat them for flavor instead of accuracy and other stats? :3 |
