I'm going to compile a list of suggestions for the creator/s and I think the community as a whole would benefit from them.
There'd be no need to play single player while online if the online was integrated... but how to do so seamlessly is the issue.

yes you always get a message when a shiny pops up.
Do you mean that when a shiny pokemon appears in the wild (during a level) you get a message saying so? Does this message 'pause' the game causing you to have to 'click to continue'?

I think the game itself is client based and doesnt require internet to play, it's just the saving data that's server side and will require internet. So as long as you don't exit out the window, load another page/refresh or log out then you can keep playing and save when ever your internet is back up.
and you can get a shiny geodude for beating the first challenge stage if that isn't how you got the geodude you lost.
Oh yeah that was the Geodude I got, but it took me a few tries to realise how to do it.

Trade Lobbies could be a nice idea, with people having open comments for what they want and what they have to trade, along with a search feature etc.

Booted up a Route 8 hopin for Shiny Eevee, went and watched something on TV. Came back shiny message was up. Pidgey but it was still up after meh show.
Is there anything special in the Rock Tunnel. One NPC talks about Shiny Voltorbs but I went though it skipping one of the girls and I never saw any shiny Voltorbs, should I go back in and look for them?

yes, you can get a shiny voltorb from there. it's a side quest, you're gonna have to beat that onyx that toss you out for not having flash.
take these steps:
1) beat every trainer and every wild pokemon encounter at least once.
2) go to the top middle area where there's usually a pile of rubble blocking a path.
3) beat the onyx (battle can be tough and annoying because you have to beat all the trainers and pokemon again if you lose).
4)the old man is rescued and he'll say he'll give you a shiny voltorb if you show him a lv 42 electrode and lv 42 pikachu plus CATCH 10 wild pikachu without logging off/exiting game.
5) go back to him with the 2 lv 42 pokemon in party and you'll get your reward.

yea lol, but still beats spamming wild encounters in hopes of a shiny if you're trying to collect.
Catching 10 pika is a pain. rest isnt too hard.
Can you get a shiny this way?
