Make repairs smart and efficient

I thought about this for weeks recently. If the proclaimed adventurer is in distress of having to need repairs on all different classes, then why not just make a universal idea to have one main craft and be able to repair all other items? Not only that, but imagine the price and cut investments without having to invest in every craft.

Realistically, I can safely say that myself and other adventurer's will come across cap level increase soon enough up to a point new equipment/recipes will be introduced, thus creating a wave of problems continuing the investment in increasing Land of hand levels. We all know this, it's going to come, and people will eventually realize and give up leveling multiple crafts.

Of course, we will get comments saying "farm" or "get help from friends". Listen well...

Not everyone is going to be in a kick *** link shell is going to generously donate crystals and materials just to level one guy to support all his crafts. More or less, a sever particularly with low population means low abundance of resources to craft or level an item. The lack of resources price hike would be the blame of player activity and population; if there is a lack of people of the server, then there's less items to be sold of the needed item. For example, pesite skin. Pesite skin is going roughly for 20-30k a piece and extremely dangerous to farm or rare to get in SP parties.

In short, make repairs an ease of pain to everyone else, or just abolish it altogether if it's massively large amount to invest or tedious to level every craft to support all other repair types. 20-50mil is the estimate amount of of investment needed to support every other craft (excluding fishing). The lack of population or activity of the server renders the encouragement of leveling the land of hand, or needed materials to be created, and most importantly, continuation of an adventurer/friends.

Be warned, there are potential trolls on that topic, so just ignore them.

I kinda agree, but at same time they are already going to dumb down crafting (possibly the HQ's also), Lame to make all the crafter feel worthless after all the work they do !

IDK I think the point is kinda to seek repairs from other players not just do them all yourselves. Maybe it varies from server to server but I've yet to have a problem getting them just afking by the repair npc with a bit more gil offered then the cost of the dark matter. Profit is profit after all.

If they change anything about it I'd want to see the repair npc prices being much more reasonable and he does it to 100% while player based repairs can go beyond 100% to provide a bonus to the item while it is above 100%, maybe 125%.

Lol what utter bull. 20-50mil? Everything I've leveled on this character was done with no more than what you get starting as a FIsherman. . .
My main, vestara khai was lost, started over, didn't whine/complain/beg. It's too easy still, leveling is harder but still very easy lol.

yeah i think the should get rid of dark matter. now on my server when people need repair they just put up the ark matter in return as a reward. forget that i want gil. i wont touch a repair unless it had 10k and thats for dark matter only. i hear people shouting for repairs and when i check they have next to nothing repairs when the dark matter cost about 4500g for grade 5.

I don't know if it has changed, but I despised the repair system when I played.

It's much better since they changed all repairs to Dark Matter. Now I always have the repair materials needed with me. Also, I like the way that the repairs are done. Of course I am about to hit 40 Tanner which will only leave Alchemy and lol Cooking below 40.

The only complaint I have is when I am repairing equipment for someone and they don't organize it nicely for me :D which in the grand scheme of things is pretty minor.

Also to the OP, I managed to do all my crafting so far without support of a kickass linkshell. I have one, I just never needed support from them. There are lots of guides that tell you how to level and make a profit while doing it. I did my research, checked prices and found synths that made enough profit to cover the cost of buying materials and shards.

If you can't find a few profit making synths to provide a steady income, you need to do some more research.

Getting 5-160 sp from doing repairs is not that big of deal, and more of a waste of time. You can get SP from crafting or doing craft leve quest.

This is an excuse that renders it being useless.

Well, then maybe you should tell me. I'm getting sick of the replies of people in the dark telling me people can get 100-200mil in a month without telling how. Even a person with nearly infinite gil wouldn't even share how (yes, this is true). It just goes to show you how people are *** greedy and selfish & max gil wouldn't satisfy them.

The first time I made gil was very simple. Game was new, so was crafting and obtaining new gear no one has ever seen = easy way to sell items for 100-200k. Now that every person has learned to take time in crafting, only those with 40+ and up are making gil selling HQ items.

I have very small options to make gil; it's either I level botonist or miner, and start selling the items farmed. That does nothing for me if the items are already in supply and being sold slowly by demand. That or constant selling teleports, doing extensive leves, or even selling hq synth items. That only pulls me up at the end of the week of 200-300k, that's not that big of a deal.

The three major linkshells on wutai are selling raid or lv 50 gear drops for 1-7mil (7mil would be entire set) and are doing nothing but sitting afk waiting for the next buyer. This sets an example that when a person has a max level of everything, they become obnoxious and greed beyond words. Whatever happened with just helping others getting the same thing? People act like lv 50 is end game now making applications for linkshells online, and the game is still in development!

CB+2~3 used to get you 100M a month easy if you had all the major crafting traits. Not anymore obviously due to 1.19.

If you want a real money maker take FSH / BTN / MIN to 50 and sit in a pile of gil and roll around in it. I still pull in 1M/day with FSH. Get all 3 to 50 and with new catalyst farming in 1.19 you will be making more money than you know what to do with. And guess what: it's PURE profit.

Is it 200M a month? No. But gil means nothing in XIV at the moment. Half of the serious DoH/DoL's in my LS are sitting at 500M+ and have no idea what to do with it.

I'm a good listener, so I'll go ahead and try it out. But, the fact remains having multiple craft means bigger investment. I only leveled multi craft just for the sake of repairing myself. I don't like like shouting or looking for help, more or less, it makes me look like a begger.
