Yeah. Problem is unless you can find a linkshell dedicated to helping new people, they don't do that. Best bet is to make friends. :/

incidentally, if you don't mind begging, you can generally clear all the zones in a day or so by going to the boss pops, and asking a group to let you in for win only

Honestly, outside of Voidwatch, those don't really exist. They're more like social shells now. You can check all the server forums and see if there was a recently bumped LS recruitment thread, but that's about it. Last one I can recall seeing is Draylo's shell.
I have an LS that does actual events that aren't voidwatch o_O We get people emps and +2's really quickly.

Like goal for monday - > Finish stage1 of vere
Goal for tuesday - > Stage2 of vere
Goal for wednesday - > Stage1 of kannagi
Goal for thursday - > Stage2 of kannagi
Goal for friday - > Stage1/half of stage2 of armageddon
Sat/sunday - > Fre days
Next mondays goal - > Finish armageddon
Next Tuesdays goal - > Farm Bukhis pops + Pop 6+ bukhis to complete everyones +2 boots.

if I walked up to you while you popped a zone boss and said

"[Excuse me] [I'm sorry] [mega boss] [title] [please] [Can I have it] ^^" what would you do?

Because I find it near impossible to say no in that situation lol

Pop it, let you help out until it's around... maybe 5% and then kick you.
