I created 8 more characters purely so I could get a Love Torque... And I win the torque on my main character x.x Least I got a bunch of Ark Angel statues too. Nothing else though
I don't feel it's rigged but I don't exacly think its 100% random. I believe that se doesn't allow 1 ball to ever have 2 winning possibilities. For example, rank 5 the number is 4 therefore none of the other ranks will end in the last digit 4 and so on through the ranks. So in my theory it is a controlled selection process

Also, they do say that if your number matches more than one winning number, you win the higher prize.
First time I didn't win anything above a rank 5. =/
2nd year in a row I tried to procrastinate buying marbles until the last day and then forgot... :/

What I'd like to know is how many individual people won what and how many marbles the average person purchased. So like, if the average person bought 50 marbles and half of them won a rank 4, 5% of the population won a rank3, etc.

There is no such thing as "completely random". All "random" numbers are generated using programming algorithms which produce "seemingly random" numbers. If you knew exactly what information was going into the algorithm, AND you knew what the algorithm was, you could figure out what "random" number would be produced. However, these algorithms are very complex, and it is often unknown exactly what information is being entered into the algorithm. I ASSUME that SE uses an algorithm which gives each possible number an equal likelihood of being produced, in which case your odds of winning are easily calculable (which was done earlier in this thread).

Love Torque, Noct Helm, Valhalla head, war body x10, not sure on 5th. Char is also our cleave war. Have 90 brd on her, but not sure if i want to bother wasting rank4 on brd body seals.

Who all won rank 1 and what did you choose?
You never hear anything about rank 1 winners. The moogles are sure to "take care of them" as soon as possible.
I can only assume rank 1 winners attempt to trade in their marble for a weapon ASAP to defend themselves with... but it's always too late.

Rank 3 , 4 and 5 on main Caracter ( take Hachiryu haidate for rank 3 and dunno wat i can take with second rank 4... already have love torque ) + 1 other rank 4 on mule ( take justice torque on mule ) and 14 rank 5 , 14 statues...

but not having mnk and hating the job i dont want a black belt. i have twilight gear and its easy to get, why waste it? i dont fish so silk/shoot goes out the window. most people would obviously choose cat's eye cuz 30,000 alex is stupid long to get. thing is im still PSC, on floor 10 in nyzul, never done either salvage or einharier(sp?). so i my question is should i get the cat's eye even though its only 1 long part of an extremly long line of quests or play it save and go gil/novio(selling)?

tl;dr are "hardcore" and dedicated = cat's eye
"casual" and don't want the burdon of always working on something, or feeling obligated = next best thing
i have the friends to help, and i know its a big commitment. the way i see it though, is i would eventually get it right? if i make an effort to work at it that is. 6~8mil can be gone in a day if i wanted to spend it all. idk, what im tryin to say is in the end would a vajra be worth the time spent?

hmmm. my only other way to go really is gil which would almost all be gone cuz i need a love torque still and i'd just buy that. bleh this is difficult :<
5.7mil can't buy a novio on my server(yet) and there's always the pandemonium key, if you get lucky, you could make more off that(Sam update to zanshin, anyone want a gkt?) or hachimaki acc att crit tp body. Dorje is bleh but there is Gil potential.
