July 11 SAM Update

For the people who still play on sam,
*The samurai ability Seigan is now augmented with a bonus based on the player's Zanshin attack rate that increases the chance of countering an anticipated attack.
*This change only applies when samurai is set as the main job.

The samurai ability Hasso will now occasionally trigger Zanshin after landing a normal attack.
*This change only applies when samurai is set as the main job.

*The following job ability has been added:
Konzen-ittai (SAM Lv. 65, Recast Time: 3 Minutes, Effect Duration: 1 Minute)
Readies target for a skillchain.

*The effectiveness of the samurai job trait Store TP now increases at level 90 instead of 91.

Slightly discussed in the full update thread, but Konzen-ittai will probably work like Wild Flourish, but even if its not a high lvl skillchain it can can help build a stronger finishing SC

For the TP phase perhaps.
Zanshin doesn't work on WS, while DA does.
I always thought zanshin proc'd in WS? Honestly havent kept up with sam since abyssea sadly, but I was always told it could. :(
Zanshin can proc on ws. but prior to update it would just apply on a miss, so we would have to see if the effect stacks on ws also.

Zanshin and Store TP updates are both very good news. Wonder if the Seigan update will be Ballista-tier, though.

So I mean for Masa users would Ace's now be an upgrade over Dusk+1? With the Store TP update and Zanshin update.

Just for reference on what gear gives what Zanshin (Not saying TP in it all).
Katana Strap - 5%
Unkia earring - Not sure, probably 1/2%
Unkai Domaru +2 - 10%
Ace's Mufflers - 3% (Might be 4)
Unkai Sugemino - 5%
Can't remember anything else.

if these are based on the % of zanshin proc, we may see some interesting stuff

Further Notes:
Activation rate is 45% on 75SAM main, and about 25% on /SAM.
SAM merit Zanshin Attack Rate increases activation rate by 1% per upgrade.
When Zanshin activates, Zanshin's extra attack has a +35 accuracy bonus.
so with all the gear combined with trait it would be safe to say sam can easily get more than 50~60% zanshin rate with todays gear.
so do you think we will get a 50~60% chance to proc zanshin with hasso up? or will it be lower? >O

If it doesn't ruin your xhit yes, but there's many things in other places to consider, such as Atheling over Tactical and even VV atma for Regain. I doubt I'll be making a Zanshin specific build but who knows.

I worked it out with merits to be 75% I think, 70% at least, but that's pure Zanshin build.

me pearley sam has been backburned so long it got all moldy and stuff. /mothballs
I used to use it /thf to farm crafting materials... but then I started leveling thf for eva tanking and jammed it in the same deep storage as pld. Someday, someone will need one of those jobs... foreveralone.jpg

So with the Kikugosaku, does this mean when I zanshin attack, assuming all hits land and I get that Double attack proc, will it be 3 hits in a row? :o

DA can't proc on Zanshin proc, i do not know if its vice versa tho :O

As far as Self skillchaining goes. Konzen-ittai, with Sekkanoki, and Meditate, (even if you are accustomed to using Reverse Flourish from time to time as /dnc)
Sam. can now self skillchain pretty much nonstop now. Especially if the recast timer on Konzen-ittai is 2mins or less.
All in all, Another way to Self Skillchain was the last thing I expected for a Sam update.
inb4 20-way skillchains.
