Luckily it by-passed me this month, but this has happened to me so many times I've lost count. If you watch the forums every time payments are due you see at least one of these threads every time. XD

But like someone said, just redo CC info and reactivate your content ID's.

yea i dont get it....i get that UCS-60257 error allll frickin day....i just cant update payment info last 3 days on my PC...stupid payment authorization process....then i see someone say try ps2/xbox....i updated my payment info there praying...worked on first try last night and im up and running..so i agree....if u have a console...update it from there..itll save you from popping extra strentgh tylenol later.

Have to update only on PoL no windower or anything. Had all this ***happen to me also. All you have to do is on Play screen content ID's >> review >> update CC >> then Content ID reactivation. works fine now

Been trying to update my payment for the last couple of hours. First of all it'd say server too busy. Then it told me my card type wasn't right. (Despite the fact two other accounts are on the card atm). Now it's not passing the 3d Secure saying my information is wrong.
I don't have a console I can update on. Do I just need to wait a while and see if it works then?

I updated my payment info but I can't get my IDs reactivated. I tried from both FFXI side and POL side...what the hell am I doing wrong?

I just want to get this out of the way so I don't have to worry later on. D:

So it allowed me to do 3d secure and now it's telling me server is busy or card details are wrong. I've checked 3 times and they're correct. This is rather frustrating. Dx

Yeah, this happens to me almost monthly. It does it mostly to people who use a debit card. It doesn't matter if the money's on the card or not either. I have plenty of money on my card and it's a routine.

I was lucky enough (or unlucky depending on how you look at it) to not be caught in the last content cancellation. Unfortunately now that I have to update my info, I have to get on the phone with my cc company and see what I have to do since my card doesn't support that 3-D security thing.

I had this for 2 weeks now trying to come back after the March 2010 update when I found out my old credit card had expired.
SE customer support told me why yes the servers are busy and I should just try it again and again. >.>

Here is a better way:
Update your card info as usual and verify it by 3D Secure.
After that you're asked to submit the info in POL.
DONT DO IT.
Instead use the back button like you want to edit your info.
Dont edit anything, just hit the submit button there.

That hint didn't work for me. It just takes me back to the verify page and prompts you to hit submit again. Fails on too busy/wrong card. Thanks anyway for the link.

I get this while updating my CC information:

"An error has occured while processing your request. The card provided is not eligible for the Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode service.
In order to complete the registration process, you will need to provide a card that is eligible for one of these services."

*** YOU, SQUARE ENIX

It worked fine before and you tell me this ***now?! WHAT THE HELL?! That's my only card too, so what am I supposed to do!?

I haven't even bothered trying to input and update my CC information yet. From numerous previous experiences, I know that their registration maint isn't finished and it's foolhardy to even try before 5pm est. After that it's usually fine.

I don't understand why people are flipping out. This isn't anything new. You should've expected to eventually have to actually follow the new rules they established like two years ago.

People are "flipping out" because that's what people do. Some people "flip out" just to do so, if for no other reason than to "flip out". Building stress is a great way to alieviate boredom.

Not flipping out here, just disappointed I couldn't get away with being grandfathered in for longer, lol. My only issue now is getting the right department on the phone, I feel like I'm on a merry-go-round.

It's premature. Wait til after 5pm est, then if it doesn't accept it, you can justifiably "Flip out"

In my house there are 3 accounts on the same Visa Debit Card and only one account was mistakenly canceled in this snafu error and of course it happens to be the account that is played most often among the 3 in this house! (Mine).

I couldn't tell you, I've been transferred so many times. I'll let you know if I find anything out. I am on the phone with a Bank of America supervisor right now and she's hanging on the line with me to see if we can find a work around with another department since this card doesn't support the verified by visa service apparently. If you go on the Visa website though and type in "contact" into their search bar, they have a list of phone numbers available for several different card providers (if you have Visa that is).

Your bank probably won't be able to do anything about it aside from offering you a card that supports the verification.
