Dhorme Khimaira /Apademak Farming And/or Buying

Hey everyone. I've seen a few of these posts here and there, but can't really tell if they've worked for another people or not so I'm giving it a shot.

I'm currently trying to farm Apademaks for my trial weapon - my only goal here are the Apademak Horns (40/75).

If you are interested in farming Dhorme and/or Apademaks for seals and +2 items then please contact me in game (Kbizzle). I usually try to run with a group of 6 people, 2 of which are me. Farm Dhorme's with red and yellow procs for people wanting seals, then afterwards brewing down all 6 Apademaks with 1 brew. I do NOT try to proc yellow or red on Apademaks, just pop and kill one at a time.

Only people providing popsets would be permitted to lot on Dhorme/Apademak drops. I will not take people along who "just want the atma". I will also be providing Dhorme pops as well on both my characters (NIN and WHM) in which body seals will go to the others in my group. Furthermore I do not need, and will not lot, the +2 items dropped by Apadamak on either of my characters, those as well will be for the 4 remaining people in the group. Just hold the KI's, lot most of the items, and give me your horns ^^.

Oh forgot to mention, Should you happen to have a Torn Khimaira Wing KI, and for some reason not need/want any drops from Apademak, then please contact me and I will gladly pay for you to pop the NM for me. You will not be required to help with the fight in any way. Thank you.

any advice on how to kill dhorme khimaira and apademak?

i have a popset and decent players to help out, but I like know what im getting into before fighting it

Easiest way i know is brewing but, I've heard you can trio it with good stunners and a ninja. If thats true idk just heard it works.

They are both pretty simple. Dhorme just tank him on his butt, he will really only use plague swipe which is nothing intimidating at all. Stun his Thunder spells. Low HP and his spells start to become AOE so take caution (completely managable). He can chain spell, and they SAY it's a timed thing, to which I call bulls***. I only see this guy CS when melee's start to swarm him. If it's just 1 tank on it, i feel like he never chainspells - just my opinion. Anyway having a fools drink/tonic/powder for emergencies is a good idea.

As for apademak - yeah just brew him. always stun him as soon as you pop him. He will almost always cast a spell of some sort when popped, can that spell can be casted on himself to level up, and gaining Fulmination. Again pop a brew and get on his butt. Have mages try to stun Thunder spells, also Fulmination and Dreadstorm. Dreadstorm is manageable, but Dread and fulmination can cause terror and stun respectively and these can last anywhere from 10-12 seconds sometimes, meaning wasting valuable time on your brews which is why I try to have people stun. If you are brewing it properly he will only get off one or two moves/spells. So stunning these shouldn't be too much of an issue. Hell if you got enough stun power just try to stun lock it as much as possible. If i'm not mistaken i think he builds resistance to it, but if you are brewing it should be dead in 20-30 seconds anyway.

Far as Apadamak goes, straight tank til TH procs, Magic proc if your after it as well, then just brew it. Corsair with 85/90 Armageddon makes brewing this stupid easy, can get at least 7/8 kills this way holding brew.

So as soon as the THF lands a hit?

Whm Nin 3 or 4Blm... Blm know how to rotate stuns. Stun everything. Tank his butt hole

lol wow. I was searching for apademak strategies, and eventually just typed apademak in the ffxiah.com search bar up top, and i eventually came across your posting which actually gave me this idea. Too funny that you responded. Yeah i saw another guy on my server, in this server forum post something similar, but it was a rather quick post with not a lot of detail.

Yeah I been brewing on THF for TH procs, and knock on wood, i been pretty successful with double drops (brewed once on ninja cuz it was getting late and I was tired, didnt feel like warping to switch to THF... never again lol). As long as I dont get stunned or terrored I can just barely squeeze 6 in 1 brew (without having wildfire).

Mind telling me what you brew with on theif? Our main Ls thief isnt allowed to brew much anymore because they epically fail at it :/ lol. And no . . . not soon as thief lands a hit. We usually wait til TH7/magic proc has been gotten before brew killing it

A. Edge is what THFs Brew with on almost anything as far as I know and have done. Switch it up with Evisceration as needed on Rani or Grau boss, or anything else that switches damage absorption.

Waiting for TH to climb isn't the same thing as proc.

Fair enough, though we don't kill much of anything Nm wise without TH7+

A. Edge is garbage. Sanguine Blade all day. Cosmos, Banisher, MAB atma. Suppa earring and sword merits and you got it on THF. Atma it up properly. Cataclysm on another job is more damaging, can possibly squeeze out 7 in 1 brew. cosmos, banisher, griffons claw. Cataclysm on war or pld is the way to go if you got a THF to help with TH. still 6 per brew nothing to scoff at if you THF sanguine brew it. tell you LS THF to step it up ^^

Silver - what about your tactic for procing TH and yellow? You do this on every pop? do you go with a tank and someone else that brews? as in, someone is standing off to the side holding the brew while the rest of the party is working on getting TH and yellow? Then call in the big guns when needed?

I did say "almost anything" TP Bonus Dagger, Gales, Ultimate, Smiting Blow. You get more MACC on A. Edge than Sanguine as well as 300% TP WS available at 100% which boosts damage.

Who cares about MACC when you are brewing. Use sanguine blade.

Hey man do what works for you - im not saying which is better or worse, i just feel like my numbers are always significantly better with sanguine and/or cataclysm. Just my own personal experience/opinion. maybe its just MY A.edge's are garbage =)

Again 6 per brew on THF is barely happening, you get terror'd or stun'd once or twice then that 6th is REALLY iffy... i usually just have someone pull 1 or 2 sisy's if i'm not confident in my remaining time.

Ya, we do it on every pop. Usually run with eight to twelve people, 2tanks, 2/3 blms, 2 whms, 2/3 wars, thf, and an assortment of whatever jobs the other people have. We try and proc magic with the jobs we have, if it happens that's great, if not no one cares since spamming it anyway. Brew lock on one of the three ??? between mobs, pulling the NM far enough away to not knock the brewer off it with an AoE.

Please don't waste your brews on this... It's not a hard fight people. It's only 1 more requirement than the usual Abyssea fight; You deal damage and keep people alive, but the only twist to it this time is... *gasp* You have to stun all of his spells. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh noooooooooooooooo. He doesn't even have much HP, fights consisting of DD from ONE Kannagi, and ONE Ukon were only about 4-5 Min long.

I'm really sick of people like aeronis assuming that people are using brews on NMs because they're "Hard." Every NM in abyssea is a total joke and 95% of the player population realizes that. People use brews for efficiency and simply because they can. 200k is an hour of cruor farming PER PERSON. If you can brew 6 apademaks in a row in less than two minutes, why the hell would you choose to fight them normally? Two minutes is less than your 30 minutes of fighting six.

P.S. You should have a THF for one of your DDs... otherwise you're wasting even more of your time.

Actually, 95% of people who brew Apademak can't reliable kill it normally and definitely not within a reasonable time frame. It also takes longer to get the brew to kill them than to just kill them normally unless you have more than 2 accounts to have to brew.

Just sayin.

^x10000 I saved up a bunch of cruor to brew this down cause everyone talks about how hard it was. When I got to the fight itself it was SO easy if you just have a reliable stunner. /nin for dd not even necessary. Can kill him in just a couple minutes with 2 dd whm rdm & thf

edit- needless to say, that cruor all went to chocobo blinkers!
