What are the best melee and magic atma builds currently?
VV/RR/GH for physical, and MM/Ambition/Beyond for Magical is what I currently use.. Is there something better for physical BPs?

Shiva i use Ultimate/MM/Beyond MM/ultimate or hells guardian/beyond for heavenly strike
All STR+ atma for single-hit phys bps like spinning dive. Some combination of STR+ crit hit and crit damage for P. Claws. Erm, yes, I was meaning MM/Ultimate/Beyond. No idea why I said Ambition, lol.
Edit: Re:Niniann - RR/GH/VV sound good for pclaw? or would SS (with this new update) be better? MM/Ultimate/Beyond is good.
You can change between Cosmos, Smouldering sky, Noxious fang, gales And Lion for the other avatars too. Physical I normally used VV & RR as for the third i'm not sure, I havn't gone physical on smn in a long time, but maybe Sanguine Scythe stacked with RR would work well for Predator claws. Uhh, I haven't really played with physical BPs that much but maybe try like RR/Stout Arm/SS. I really should mess with that sometime but lazy. Most of the time, beyond supports carbuncle -and- shiva's magical blood pacts, but also has mab +30(?) which pretty much gives it that extra umph. Edit: I use MM/beyond/ultimate and average 5000+ heavenly strikes, I then did 6800 with the Set proc (I need more blood boon gear) using smouldering sky in place of beyond for ifrit i only barely managed to break 3k, but then, my merits are maxed on heavenly strike also. RR by itself can be pretty unreliable for crits on physical BPs, I pretty much always have RR/GH for better chance of critting whenever i'm using a physical setup, then either regen atma or stout arm as 3rd (no VV yet :<)
As for SS vs VV, it would probably depend on what you're fighting, since celestials like garuda are BLM, their natural STR isn't as high (they have a D rating in STR I believe), so STR atma would help dmg quite significantly on harder opponents, I'll have to test it at some point. Show me where it says/proves spinning dive can crit, because as far as I know it's basically tachi: gekko in blood-pact form.

Has anyone done any testing to see if the critical hit damage adjustment affected pets? Shortly after the update I tried RR/GH/SS and didn't notice dmg go up at all. I wasn't able to compare it to RR/GH/VV that night but I did swap out SS with Minikin at some point and numbers seemed to stay in the same range.
Yes, the crit hit damage adjustment did affect pets. When I used Sanguine Scythe with Razed Ruins I was able to get up into the 6k+ range much more frequently than I was before.
However, VV/RR/GH is much more consistent, leading to 4-5k numbers most of the time. VV/RR/SS is less consistent with higher spikes, giving results in the 3-6k range but more often 3k than 6k. I've been sticking with VV/RR/GH. I think it's the best combo out there for Predator Claws. For single-hit BPs like Spinning Dive, I could see SS maybe being better. Hard to say. |
