So with the much anticipated SWTOR beginning to take shape I'm beginning to get a little excited. I have been following this since its announcement and I admit I have been setting expectations fairly low after the many recent MMO flops, but SWTOR appears to be on the right track so I am going to take the risk and place my hopes in Bioware!
What do you guys think? Excited about this game? I swear if they mess this up I will give up on MMO altogether.
I've been hearing so many bad things about this, I hope it turns out well. I played star wars galaxies but it turned to crap after they messed it up with the combat failures.
i'm very bullish on this MMO. I have great expectations for the game and so far, the story telling aspect of it looks VERY in depth. I could use a little more on the graphics end of it but besides that, I think that it's going to be very successful.
As much as I want to get excited for this game I'm not sure how much i'll like it from what little I have seen so far (mostly just cinematics, I have seen a little gameplay of which ... it did not impress me)
I used to love star wars galaxies, but they royally screwed that game to hell and back when they decided to change everything good to bad.
I'm sure if there is a free trial of this when it comes out I will try it, but that's all I can say for now until more gameplay footage comes out.
Yea, like I mentioned earlier, I wish they would do more graphically with the game. The rest looks like it's coming together nicely. I hope that with a budget exceeding well over $100 Million, it produces.

I'm surprised that with a budget that high they went for that style.
I hope it will have space travelling in it at least. One of the things I loved about Galaxy was the freedom you got.

Each class is supposed to have it's own class of starship that fits it's respective style. I'm assuming that if you want to travel to new planets, this is the method of travel we'll use.
Yeah now that i've watched that footage i'm actually a little more eager to get my hands on this game, it looks nice, and i'm sure it will feel nice, the GUI is really minimal which is a nice change from the bulky GUI that you usually see in many MMOs.

Keep in mind that the graphics are kept fairly low key until the game reaches the end of development, they are usually one of the latter elements of a game to be finalised. All the gameplay footage currently out there will be missing I'd guess around 75% of the textures and be running on low specs. I'm not absolutely certain but I am fairly sure that's how it goes, maybe Jaerik could correct/confirm the above for me.
I like the sound of the companion npc features in the interview. The four person group limit sounds like it would be nice for the people who may just want to grab one friend and go in with NPCs, I always wished FFXI would expand and tweek the NPC features a little more than what they have as it is kinda lacking and poopy >.>

TBH, I think you are right. A friend of mine was saying the same thing. I'm looking forward to seeing a polished version of the game.
That's cool. It'd be cool to have frigates too though where multiple people could sit on a ship and travel to a new planet like in Galaxies.
That was like the single most fun thing to do in SWG lol, me and a friend would just chill in our little multi person space craft and chill for hours just screwing around.

Guild wars did NPCs right. You could build heroes and create builds and choose gear for them and behaviour styles. With the new update you could even make one of the other characters on your account a hero, to make it all feel more tied in.
I'm gonna try this out for sure.
I'm as excited for this game as I were for Age of Conan, which was a really great game, for awhile.
I hope they manage to put enough content into this game from the start >_<
Or atleast have updates with small amounts of content fairly often from very early on!
But well, if this fails, atleast we have PSO2 to fall back on! That game is doomed to be awesome.
