The reason for the steep exchange rate is because of how much more comming crests and high crests are then the others because once a mob goes past lv 80(?) they no longer drop kindred or beastman seals. not 100% sure on the levels but before visions mobs scale up to match your kill speed they will drop KS. Beastman seals for the most part only drop when someone is leveling 1-30 (since most just keywhore their jobs past that) with KS droping even less since there are much less partys off of the 40-80(again not sure on the levels) mobs. I'd say it sounds right on that crests come into the server at 3x the rate of the other types.
If it were AF seals this change would be exciting to me.

I think Kindred Seals are the rarest of the four types, and those are the most profitable-looking seals from the looks of the BCNMs, kinda hoping it won't floor the prices of some items. Newbies need teh gilz ;;

Most profitable-ones are Beastmen Seals gil-wise.
Doing that Royal Jelly or Under Observation for Scrolls of utsusemi-ni and phalanx with lots of B.Seals stored or exchanged can get you a lot of gil.
