I have some questions regarding the proper use of weakness targeting..

From what I understand, there's a list of weapon skills that you must have in order to trigger various red !! weaknesses. Am I correct to assume that I use a fire ws (such as red lotus strike) on firesday?

Also, because the skill level I will have from subjobs will be quite low. Since you lose TP from switching weapons what would I have to do to build TP to actually use the WS?

As for blue !! weaknesses, do I just throw a listed WS in the correct time and expect to work?

Thanks in advance.

I have seen the wiki, but I am still not entirely sure what they meant by "random" for red !!. Is it random like a random element or is it random as in a random WS within that element during a certain day (Energy Drain, Blade: Ei, Shadow of Death on Darksday?)

I am also not sure about the whole TP gaining thing, what would I have to do to gain TP if my skills in like Staff or something abysmal?

Red is completely random as to which ws will proc !! Just gotta try them all or have Abyssite of Discernment.

To gain TP with a ws you're not really skilled in, just equip a Regain atma, Sea Daughter is good if you're not tanking/DD'ing.

If you're wanting to be very useful in targetting weaknesses with WS I suggest at least skilling up the skill you need to at least 200-250 (And getting the WSNM quest done for the weapons you can use.)

If the NM gaining TP is not a concern I normally just whack on it (with a regain atma or too).

It the NM has shitty moves and TP spam is a concern I just put 3 atmas with regain on so I never have to touch it.

I see, thank you all very much for clearing this up. By the way, are there any water element WS for Red that's been recently discovered yet?

Also a very useful tip: If you have abyssite of discernment (you get messages indicating weaknesses), when you receive a message, it WILL NOT be that weaponskill or spell.

For instance if you use Blade: Ei (darkness) and get message saying its darkness elemental weaponskill. You know it has to be dagger or scythe. Will never be the spell or weaponskill that gives the message.

Credit to Zubuis/Liltulip for this a long long time ago. Has helped me a lot.

Especially on Nms where it is very difficult to tell if its clean. Like the fish for Sedna. That guy is such a homo.

Might have to double check, but /SAM is 138 skill. Would need +12 skill to have Jinpu. So Justice Torque & either Bushi earring or that new head piece of +5 skill.

you'll need +12 skill from gear. Justice torque + Bushinomimi, or torque + hachimaki will work.
