Also Phorcys Schuhs are only for Soul Jump, for Spirit Jump should be AF3ing it up.
I'd also make sure you have enough sTP in your jumps that it doesn't counteract any xhit you have.

Tyrants/Rajas/AF3 body or the Aketon should be good enough. Obviously Rose strap is a given for most builds and I throw Hagneia in there for good measure since slightly more TP> 2 STR and some attack since that's the main purpose of jumping.
I still remember the first time I hit 50 DRG back during CoP and I thought "Sweet! "Super Jump" Must do a lot of damage!" and then the ensuing disappointment was felt for miles around as my anguished scream awoke my neighbors.
Ophannus said: » I have a nearly identical set save for legs/rings. Don't use Tripulus it's a waste of inventory and 3m gil and the -20 acc will hurt you on anything endgame now a days since acc usually isn't capped anymore on most things. The 5% TA is nice but the -20 acc makes it nothing more than a novelty. You're better off in the long run using Calmecac or AF3+2 pants to be honest. Ambuscade is also another waste of inventory, not worth it for the 1% unless in Legion. Just use a Mars or Tyrants ring for more TP/acc. Offline

Shoulda did your research. I thought it was commonplace to research a job's abilities/weapon skills/gear and playstyle before actually leveling it. It's tantamount to investing in a new car or computer without having an idea of what the specs mean or do. :/
Not when it's your first job you've ever played!

Here's the set I'm currently using:
Obviously swapping to Lancer's Schynbalds +2 when using Spirit Jump. :) Offline

Quote: I make my own playstyle for each job I play based on extensive research. Says the guy who said that 99OAT sucks vs 90 Rhongo which doesn't even take extensive research, takes a 4 second *** google search. Here I saved you the trouble. Ophannus couldn't parse his way out of a paper bag, so in your hands it does suck!
I never said OAT sucks. I've said i do better with a 90 rhongomiant than most people (including you) do with an OAT.

Baseless assumptions are baseless Cett. He beat me by about 3% the fight before and this fight I won by a narrow margin, he was using 99 Bravura, I only had 95 OAT at the time.
Outparsed a 90Ukon with OAT too, and did almost all the damage vs Gaunab He wasn't procing, I could provide. Only GK and sword were melee procs this fight, on Stachysaurus I usually parse in the top 3 unless I have to proc, only really lose to MNKs or Ragnarok DRKs. Kaggen: I don't always parse high, but I'm usually in the top 3 if I'm not in the outcast BLU/RDM/BLM/SMN/WHM party. Anyway I definitely recall you saying how much Rhongo>OAT the day we did Stachysaurus and you were on BLM and I was explaining to you the math and you were going on and on about the ODD and how Camlann's is relevant against high defense targets etc. Anyway you guys can go on an on how I'm a shitty dragoon because you think I'm annoying or hate me or bring up the one time I did Kalasutrax with Nubb and ran into use a wing to proc sword 3 because the WARs(including nub) were still using Ukko's after 3minutes of nobody procing sword which caused us to wipe. Then nubb was all like LOLOPHTHINKSHESAMELEERDM(yeah i'm a melee rdm in pdt/refresh gear with a PDT shikargar) or whatever, but anyway I provided a few parses to demonstrate I can outparse a few people when the fields are even and neither of us are procing, numbers don't lie. inb4 "the other dds were afk or petrified or not trying" crap. Also I was pointing out only problems with your gear choice[hint: that's the point of these threads;constructive criticism] not your playstyle/reputation/character, I never made this into a personal flame war throwing around illogical and immature ad homiems but Airius had to be a baby and take it there for basically no reason.

As far as showing the total damage for parses go, it doesn't really tell you much. I'm under the impression that majority of DDs out there are just terrible. So without the full offense detail and death count to see weaponskill rates, accuracy etc... You're not really proving anything. Why are you posting thf stuff? double edit: you're the one who started this by saying i didn't research my job when i clearly do. you started this flame war. don't blame me for defending myself. Man, Ophannus manages to be terrible on 2 message boards.

At the very least, I'm disproving this logical fallacy: Quote: Ophannus couldn't parse his way out of a paper bag, so in your hands it does suck! Ad homiems aside, if you're going to accuse me of not being able to parse, the burden of proof lies on you to provide evidence of your claim that my damage sucks. Lol, you're bragging that you beat nubbi's Bravura.

Quote: Thanks for all the advice guys! What I've gathered so far from the responses is gear for the multi-hit on jumps. You still want to keep your 5 hit though. The main goal of Jumps is to reduce the number of hits in your X hit so you 3 hit with Spirit Jump(38-40+ TP) and 2 Hit with Soul Jump(58-60+TP), so you want at least a decent amount of sTP in your sets which is why we're using Plackart/Aketon,Tyrants,Rajas,Hagneia,Af3 feet(for spirit). The Tyrants/Rajas combo is prefered over the +1% DA ring. The DA ring increases damage more but if you want to optimize your set, you'll want Tyrants/Rajas for the sTP which will help give you a cushion incase you miss a hit or two of stardiver. For jumps, first priority is making sure the TP from a single hit Jump provides enough TP to keep the 5 hit by reducing the number of swings till your next WS by a whole number(Spirit Jump+3 hits for next WS/Soul Jump+2 hits for next ws) next priority is to multihit it up for chances at instant 100%+ TP on soul jump and to 2 hit your Spirit Jumps when they DA(80% TP+1 hit), followed by accuracy, then attack/str/whathaveyou. When optimized for sTP your attack rounds would be like this, assuming starting with 0 TP: 0% TP Spirit Jump-> 45% TP Hit(60%) Hit(80%) Hit(100%) WS! or for Soul Jump Soul Jump-> 60% Hit(80%) Hit(100%) WS! This is why it's pertinent to make sure you're preserving the 5 hit in your Jump gear. When your wyvern is down, I would use Jump/High Jump since the mods/hate shed are better and for those sets I have almost all sTP gear because when the wyvern is down and the TP bonus isn't present, you need all the TP you can milk out of those Jump/High Jumps to justify interrupting your delay which is why for those sets I don't bother with damage or multihit gear unless the value is worthwhile like 2 QA vs 3 STP or something. Good job ninja re posting that rather than editing it. Classy~

I'm not bragging, I'm discrediting your completely baseless (which it is because you have not provided any evidence) accusation that OAT sucks in my hands and that I can't 'parse my way out of a paper bag' as you put it, with a few examples. If you're going to say I'm cherry picking my parses then technically I could say the same thing to any parses you post about my damage sucking, so you see we're at an impasse. The very same logical thinking you're using to say I'm a shitty player, I could use against people in those parses that lost to me, since it would seem they can't parse their way out of a paper bag. If you're defending those other players because they lost to me based on "deaths/attack data/ws rates" then I could very well pull the same argument in my own defense for examples you use against me to say I'm a shitty player, *** the double standard. You think I'm a shitty player because you hate me or think I'm annoying or heard bad things from other players. That's cool I'm fine with that, because my character or personality is irrelevant to my performance in game and advice on foums. You belittling me because you think I suck based on vague accusations without to back it up is irrelevant to this discusion LOL
It's too bad there isn't any record of you ever in my linkshell's voidwatch runs since your gimpness got yourself banned from them back in march for assuming melee rdm was why we invited you to a Kalasutrax run. We could provide you with that parse if you'd like to show you exactly what you didn't do as a support role?
(Btw this is how you edit a post, you edited that first one three times trying to add more credibility... and this one once.. sad that you just can't hit the edit button like the rest of us :\ ) if you look at my set you'll see i get 14.7 tp off a jump. multiply by 3 for the soul jump tp modifier you get 44.1. My WS gives me 18 tp if all 5 hits land. Let's assume 3 hit for 16. I'm now at 60.1 tp. 2 hits left for a 3 hit using soul jump. And look I have extra double and triple attack as a bonus!
edit: if I'm worried about acc on WS for whatever reason instead of replacing the ring I can add a hagneia stone. Offline

Quote: It's too bad there isn't any record of you ever in my linkshell's voidwatch runs since your gimpness got yourself banned from them back in march for assuming melee rdm was why we invited you to a Kalasutrax run. You mean the run the I was invited to stun only as RDM/BLM which has a 20 second cooldown, in which I popped a wing to run in and savage blade quickly to get it off since it was sword 3 for about 2 minutes and nubb was still Ukkoing and I died to doom because we had no fanatics anymore. Oh I'm absolutely positive we wiped to the first kalasutrax but won 1 or 2 afterwards in that run. When I got the invite he told me to come to stun, not to do t2-4 nukes or other procs, he said just come to stun raksha stance since they had 2 blms already. But anyway we won the kalasutrax after the first but still you guys accuse me of me thinking im a DD melee rdm. I guess in this life if you do more things right than wrong, people will dwell on the one thing wrong forever and not the times after where you did it right because we won afterwards also -- humans never *** up or make mistakes right? Not to get involved in this pissing contest between you three, but...
