First, already mentioned in another thread-
We added a modified version of the site skin to the FFXI wiki (only the wiki at this time, but still an improvement) that uses a liquid width (90%). You can select this skin from the wiki preferences page when you're logged in. This is something a lot of people have asked for, so here you go.

Second, and this is a new development-
We have installed a mediawiki extension that allows for case insensitve searching. Both a normal search and the search suggest should now correctly list pages that match your search when the case differs.

As an example - Before, typing in "coin of ardor" (no quote) would not take you to the correct page or give you relevant results in the search or search suggestion box. Now, "coin of ardor" should take you directly to the correct page when you press Enter or click Go, and correctly list the page in the search suggest box or manual search results. I hope this helps you guys find what you were looking for- This was a major criticism from some of you and we thank you for the feedback. Please keep it coming, we will do what we can to improve the site further.

(Note: We're still working on cleaning up the log in system- It's a pretty complex issue, and we're sorry it's taking so long. I'll let you know what's going on with it as soon as I know more)

Incidentally, looks like the case sensitivity in the search feature was removed as well. Good form.

Thanks for the update; I'm really liking the liquid skin.

Step in the right direction, I suppose.
Only real complaints from me about the skin:
1> It's not the default.
2> The skin seems to not be made for this sort of width. Go to any page and look at the title, normally the blue header stretches across the top of the page including the title text. Currently, the title text is by itself and the header is sitting next to it. Nothing huge, but noticeable and easily fixed.

As far as logins are concerned, I've been able to login through the link given previously in many topics, and have yet to be logged out.
Would there be a problem with using that login page, just linking it at the top of GE?

Try clearing your browser cache. I had that problem with the header initially and the header image was left-justified as it should be after doing so (ctrl-F5 in firefox).

That's not a bad idea about the login page, but I think Gani would rather just keep working at making it work as intended. I'll bring it up though, as I'd think it would be a pretty quick fix.

And I meant for that login suggestion to be a temp fix until you get the system working the way you'd like.

You have officially replaced wiki on my bookmarks bar, grats.

Tahngarthor here;

The log in menu accessible from all parts of the site in the top right corner of the page should now correctly log you in to all parts of the site. You no longer need to use the wiki log-in page to get logged in.

We sincerely apologize for the excessively long time it took to get this fixed, and we hope that this makes the site work better for everyone.

Edit: Additionally, the YouTube extension has been restored and now all the video embeds across the wiki should render now :)

looks good, you might want add a Lagrange filter to the recent tweets on the main page though.Ya know nip it in the bud before causes any probs...

If you see anything weird in the next few minutes, it's only temporary. extensions were disabled to troubleshoot a problem with some maintenance scripts :p

somewhat off topic, but I just noticed that the "Coin of Voyage" page is very messed up.
