ok Caitsith people...because an item sells for 1M on your server doesn't mean you should AH it for 1M on Ragnarok, check Ragnarok prices before jamming AH with overpriced ***, change your FFXIAH search to Ragnarok default..

Cursed Gloves -1 is not a rare item on ragnarok and the market been going at 300k-350k for a long time even after the synergy update, and now someone has it on AH for over 600k(all i had, prolly had it on more) and people bazaaring it for 1M-1.5M according to CSith price..

atleast check both Ragnarok and CSith prices and check which one has the more popular market before jacking all prices up and taking other items down

If you don't want to pay the price, then don't buy it. Eventually when no one buys it, the price will fall in compensation. Obviously your demand was great enough to warrent you paying all the gil you had. Whose to blame for that?

If it's so commonly sold at 300-350k, why did you bid 600k? No item is worth more or less than what people will pay for it, end of story.

There was about an equal amount of Cait sith and Ragnarok players before the merge


So I'd say they have a say on price as much as you do.

If no-one bid high then there wouldn't be a problem.

Surely people have the freedom to sell items for whatever price they want. If you don't want to buy something at that price then don't bid.

I think it is naive to think people don't check the AH price before they put an item up for sale, especially more expensive items.

How do you even know it is someone from Caitsith who is selling it?

And by the same token... just because it sold for 300k~350k before caitsith came over doesn't mean it has to stay that way. when updates/mergers happen the market changes based on demand. clearly there was a demand for that item on catsith thus when they came here the price for that item rose. There is more people on your server now thus the prices of your ah item are gonna rise (unless there is too many crafters making 1 item then the increase of crafters will make the item value go down the drain).

tl:dr : stop conplaning about market changes just because you buy your item at the wrong time (if you wanted it for 300k.. you should have bought it before the merge... too bad)

Cait Sith ppl has actually been a good thing for our AH system, Rag ha always been predominatly run by JP and since majority of thier crafters have quit or gotten more gil than they could want, the AH has been dead of a few of the rare'r but still good to have items. EN crafters were all too busy with Aby burning jobs to 90 to even are about crafting. Cait sith brought fresh blood to the AH, even if some of the items wre a bit overpriced than before, its not a really noticalbe diffrence unless you're just a tightwad with money.

auction is actually stabilizing now, most items are raised by a small amount but they're overflowing while they were dead before, it sucked at start but now its improving and its happening fast

Blazza said it before I could, (An item is only worth what people pay for it) and in truth it applies to more than just the AH as well. I've noticed the creeping of Dyna currency and ancient beastcoins recently as well as people do more Dyna, less Limbus, and the demand/price changes accordingly. But there is also what is happening on the distributor's end as well. Someone putting the item up for 1m when everyone pays only 300k might truly think the item is worth 1m. Or he's being an opportunist for the fact that there is no more on the AH. Or maybe SE nerfed the drop rate and its rather rare now. The coin flips both ways, all we can do is be vigilant and flexible.
