But that story/link from OP just made me go wow... Psychology shouldn't really concern itself with logic, considering much of human thought is emotive.

Valefor.Slipispsycho said: Depends on what you mean exactly.. I mean road work and inadequate drainage for heavy rain is a problem.. I would say for the most part we're pretty sophisticated in all other aspects.. Road work will always be an issue. How many lanes is I-10 west up to now? You can't deny that improvements aren't being made/dealt with albeit slowly. As for the drainage problems, people need to stop driving under the overpasses after severe rains. Wait, no just let them go... Phoenix.Wackatramp said: Je ne comprend pas.... The average American logic. <.< Yeah I'm not saying either isn't unexpected, but it's still a problem classified under 'infrastructure'.
People are idiots when it comes to flooding.. "Hmm.. I can only see the surface of the water, I can't see the road itself, but hell, it couldn't possibly be that deep, I mean it is a road, that must mean my car can handle it!" ~drives a car with a clearance only slightly higher than a Formula 1 racer into the water~ /gets stuck WTF! This can't possibly be my fault, Houston fix this! Diabolos.Smackbones

Let's not forget the rare occasions when the roads ice over. I like to grab a cup of coffee and turn on the news.

Lol <.< Yeah, Houston and ice just don't mix, at all..
Well unless we're talking about ice in a cooler, that's got like 48 cans of beer and is being systematically emptied of beer to make room for the fish, then they go together great :) Diabolos.Smackbones

And yes, the beers must die a slow, painful death. One by one...

Diabolos.Smackbones said: We talking fresh or saltwater? Yeah fellow psuedo-houstonian and I was all like /face palm then I was like wait it's in Waco. Though if you read it he targets a bible verse and then says well the second light isn't a light it's a reflector. Which then this women(whom probably is much like my parents, I wasn't even allowed to watch his show) took as an assault on her religion and not necessarily as a "what the moon doesn't produce it's own light, your a hieratic!" but more of, so you could have educated us on science but for no reason you decide to go, alright children question God and your parents(paraphrasing, basing it on personal experience), in which she responded with, your an evolutionist and possibly Atheist I don't want my children around you, just done in a redneck way.
With the flood thing, I know about oh gosh 8 or so years ago there where(multiple versions of, and don't remember if this is right name) "bubble theory" basically the atmosphere around the earth was supersaturated with with water or, H and O, and something happened that "popped" the "bubble", causing a flood of never seen before, and most likely never again, proportion. It was actually theorized not by a Christian but someone else who took notice of the fact that "The Flood" that is experienced in many religions seem to occur around the same "time period"-based on how long the world had allegedly been around at that point according to the specific religions. I haven't looked it up in years but it had some good backing for a while. edit- also Houston is the largest U.S. City to ever elect an openly gay Mayor(our current one), so go us. When I say flooding, I'm not talking about massive wide spread flooding that would just be attributed to random nature, I'm talking about something that happens 2-3 times a year or more..

Yeah, Houston isn't ready to deal with heavy down pour and it quickly builds up, I think they're working on remedying it now, but until then it does cause problems..
It's not just a problem for Houston though, it happens to a lot of towns surrounding there.. Diabolos.Smackbones
