Canceled Everything, Still Being Charged.

Alright so basically, I quit around Septemberish because I got rid of my xbox. That being said, I canceled everything, Square Enix account and all, mainly because I didn't think FFXI would run on my laptop because it didn't work on the main computer.

It turns out I've been charged every month since September, tried to login but I can't because the Square Enix account was canceled. I can't seem to find a support on the PoL site, besides the one that takes me to square enix, that I can't use because the account was canceled.

I figured to try and install it on the laptop, which worked but can't login thanks to it being canceled.
If I'm still being charged for it after canceling the account is there some way to login? I can't use support since the account was canceled. I can't find anything on this to help.

Didn't deactivate your content ids ?

When I was going to cancel it, it said if I cancel the square enix account, everything linked to it would be unavailable. Which seems like it would cancel everything, I had already gotten rid of the xbox so I had no way to login to PoL and do that, the only thing I found on PoL/SE was that, so I did it.

Going to call tomorrow and see if they can reactivate it or at least stop the charges. :s

you have to cancel content ids or the card that's on the account, only way to do it, or have them do it.

Yeah, I'm not worried about the canceling anymore, since I did it wrong. If i'm going to be able to somehow reactivate the account and be able to play is what i'm going to try. Since it actually runs on the laptop and what not.

probably should just look into recovering the SE account then, as the other information should still be entirely intact, or try to unlink it somehow but I doubt that can be done.

Nobody quits FFXI.

I only quit because I got rid of an xbox, it never worked on vista on my main pc so I never bothered to try it on my laptop until now so hopefully, calling they'll be able to reset it or something.

you tried to use it without downloading the proper playonline install file from playonline.com didn't you?

If you're really quitting, just call your credit card company, and issue a chargeback for every month since december, and tell them you canceled the account and have no idea why it was still charging you. They will do it and SE will promptly ban you, but you will get your money back and the account will be off lol.

No. When I tried it on the main computer, it was one of those buddy pass things to see if it would work, but it said it wouldn't run on the operating system. I downloaded it off of steam yesterday, and it works fine. I just need to see if I can get the account unlinked or reactivated :s

Like I said (sorry was on girlfriend's computer) the playonline on the disc won't run on Vista/7 you need to download the install file from playonline.com

it's better than using steam, but since you have an extra set of codes, go ahead and make a second account and have some fun in the meantime.
