Whey is dairy derived too.
Well it's a by-product, I wouldn't exactly label it as a dairy protein like casein though.

I don't know about the other American websites, but on bodybuilding.com you can buy 10lb bags for $80-100 depending on the brand rather than $50-60 for the 5lbs. This will last you 2-3 months at 2 scoops per day.
Asura.Slugman said: » If you do buy protein from trueprotein (now truenutrition) like in that guide, which I highly recommend, use coupon code KYG1026 for 5% off! :) You can get 16lbs of soy isolate from truenutrition for $77 (plus 10% off with coupon).
other types and blends are available, or customize your own like I did. Can anyone recommend a casein brand? I currently use ON casein- any other brands around that price point($30) to look into? I need to buy some.

I haven't touched soda in over 2 years, but the hard part will be giving up ice cream. :(

Ground beef is usually cheaper than chicken breast but fattier, so take that in mind. Just watch out for sales in the meat. For carbs, oatmeal and brown rice are pretty cheap. Eggs are always cheap and this Walmart near me has boxes of 6 steaks for 10 bucks. When you're broke, you gotta get it where you can!

I complained and they gave me a coupon off of my next purchase, which is pretty solid customer support imho. Hades.Cheyne said: » So I was reading over that link you sent, good stuff. Find a really good tasting Whey protein, it'll be enjoyable to drink and will satisfy ice cream cravings! My current grocery store staples are chicken breasts, eggs & egg whites, extra lean ground beef, and flank steak for protein sources. You should add fish if you like it (I hate it) and lean ground turkey. Carbohydrates for me revolve around mostly red kidney beans, rice, and couscous. Random fibrous carbs like salad, broccoli, bell peppers ect. as well. With that I pretty much make all my meals based on whatever random condiments I have on hand that I won't bother listing. Chicken/Turkey/Fish are ideal as they are lean and rich in protein and other good fatty acids. Mix in rice/veggies (gotta get your greens!) and for ice cream cravings go frozen yogurt. Stay away from Soda as much as possible and try to stick to water/tea/juice.
(For people who don't like fish, try blackened Tilapia, if cooked right will taste exactly like chicken) Phoenix.Suji said: » Asura.Slugman said: » Bahamut.Baconwrap said: » Can anyone recommend a casein brand? Some guy recently said choclate orange is the only flavor he likes... sounds gross to me. I usually keep a lot of vanilla in stock to cook with. Wife gets banana flavored (vomit) but it's really handy for making banana bread. You guys rock, thank you! I do hate fish so I might not be touching that anytime soon. I am also not very fond of vegetables at all, so it will be very difficult to start eating those. I do have a protein powder that I am using right now which is pretty good.
So is it ok to be eating whole wheat bread? I do love my pb+j sandwiches. Hades.Cheyne said: » You guys rock, thank you! I do hate fish so I might not be touching that anytime soon. Many breads get labeled whole grain, wheat, etc but aren't really "whole wheat." Also a lot of bread is fattening or had added sugar so check that since that can mess up your goals. Asura.Melbufrauma

More or less been eating vegetarian with Chicken and Fish. (I'm not doing it for the dumb delicious animals, just encourages me to eat more plants.) Indeed. I usually don't cheat. Maybe once every 1-4 months. But when I do, I go all out.

Only made it 2 bites into my ice cream and one of the 2 piece of fried dough. Also, lol I heard a rumor that they get their chicken nuggets from McDonalds in the same lot. Ordered that and the ***is true lmfao. Tastes exactly the same, so I told the waiter I liked the chicken nuggets and he said "Yea, they're way better than McDonalds" and I've never had to try harder to hold back laughter almost spit food all over the place good thing that pic points out visually ... is how important portion control is.
I tried to do portions honestly. Also I'm not sure about the sugar free syrup. I try to get the organic stuff and use it sparingly (has the same antioxidants as red wine I hear).
Though we were out of it so I had to use the fake corn syrup crap :/ That food looks good btw. I've sort of been living off of seafood/chicken and squash/zuchini since we have a bunch in the garden... Let me upload a picture for you guys lol. Paid 10 bucks for all of that :D
Tape Measure As a Reference
It's not about the length, it's about the girth. All silliness aside it makes for really good stir fry with shrimp or chicken. Somebody recommended squash in an earlier post. A little olive oil, ginger and garlic makes it really good as well if you grill it in foil. Seriously if you have the room in your yard, a summer garden is awesome. Not sure why our garden keeps making such huge Zuchini's. Sadly they are at the end of their life cycle now.. We have 4 of these left. Lakshmi.Watusa said: » That's a cheat snack! You just listed everything I despise. haha As for zucchini, if you cut it to very thin slices and fry it in a bit of vegetable oil (quick, that it doesn't become soft), you can make chinese food and pretend it's bamboo (the taste is very close, I can't stand zucchini cooked any other way but that's actually good). Zucchini, squash and carrots can also be used in bread, if you or someone in your family bake. Hmm, what else from veggies could I think of... spinach pancakes are great if you make them yourself (I've never liked the ready-made option, they taste like cardboard), and lightly fried fresh spinach goes with nearly anything. A lot of options for chinese-oriented food, just toss any sliced veggies to pan, but don't overcook! They're more fun to eat when they're crunchy. Salad goes surprisingly well to chinese food too (very lightly fried). Oh, stuffed cabbage rolls are awesome! But they're a lot of work to make. Can cut out the rice (if you use recipe that has rice) just fine if you want to cut carbs, meat and cabbage and spices is good. :) My solution for veggies!
