So it's coming out this Sunday in the US, who else is gonna pick it up? The launch library is pretty good despite there being no Zelda or Star Fox on day one, and I'm actually having trouble deciding what game to pick up with it.
Super Street Fighter 4 3D: Originally I tossed this around, but, I'm not really into fighting games. I could see someone who's into that scene getting this though, it's fully featured like the console versions.
Rayman 3D: A Dreamcast Rayman 2 port in 3D with enhanced graphics. What more is there to say? I love platformers, and this one in particular was always superb.
Steel Diver: Apparently it's a submarine simulator of some kind. Sounds promising and interesting, but I dunno if I'm willing to put my money on it before I read some reviews.
Samurai Warriors Chronicles: I've never played a Samurai Warriors game, and I don't know exactly what the gameplay entails other than you can switch your character midfight and your actions have rewards and consequences. Sounds good, but can anyone fill me in on the intricacies of the series? Gameplay, etc.
Resident Evil Mercenaries: It says Resident Evil so it must be good right? Right.
Dream Trigger: This sounds really interesting, but I don't know if it would have lasting appeal after the "wow" factor diminishes. Basically what I've gathered is you're some being that's turning nightmares into dreams and there's colors and ***.
Spongebob Squigglepants 3D: The coup de grace, need there be any other title?

So yeah, I'm thinking Samurai Warriors or Rayman myself, probably Rayman just cause I know nothing about Samurai Warriors. What's everyone else gonna do?
I stopped reading when you said the launch titles were pretty good.
And I think you're confused... this is the launch library I've been seeing:
* Pilotwings Resort
* Nintendogs + Cats
* Steeldiver
* Dead or Alive
* Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D
* Madden NFL
* Super Street Fighter IV 3D
* Asphalt 3D
* Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D
* Ridge Racer 3D
* Resident Evil: The Mercenaries
* LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars
Despite that, I hate my DSiXL, so I might trade it in for the discounted 3DS... but I won't be picking up any titles until Nintendo shapes up their act.
I can tell you right off the bat there are a few slips there. Dead or Alive and Spongebob don't release until May. Here is a lineup for launch day.

Bust-A-Move Universe
Face Raiders
LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars
Nintendogs + Cats: French Bulldog
Nintendogs + Cats: Golden Retriever
Nintendogs + Cats: Toy Poodle
Pilotwings Resort
Samurai Warriors Chronicles
Steel Diver
Super Monkey Ball 3D
Super Street Fighter IV: 3D

In all honesty, unless you have a broken DS and are planning to play some DS games, I don't see why you'd pick this up on day one.
Wait until a decent lineup of games comes out (Zelda, Starfox, Paper mario etc) and it'll probably be cheaper and the first defective batch would be gone.

Edit: If it's a gimmick then that's just fine. I'm getting $75 off by trading in my old DS, so it being 20 dollars cheaper (face it, like it's going to drop at all in 2-3 months) is moot to me. Some of the games coming out seem genuinely enjoyable, they don't have to be blockbusters to make me want to play them. Plus, anything's better than my current DS which has a shitty touch screen deficiency.
Weren't there 4 untitled SMT games revealed ages ago? I know one of them is definitely the Devil Survivor port. I could definitely see another serious entry as Strange Journey on the DS was basically Shin Megami Tensei 4. But then again, Catherine on the PS3 was supposed to test waters for some next gen MegaTen stuff, so we might be left with spin-offs after all.
3D is cool and all, but I need my arr pee gees bros.
So far without turning it on: I'M IMPRESSED!
It's small, it comes with one of those charger stands and i'm now going through the AR cards that came with it
I got my 3DS on friday (launched in ireland on firday anyway) and there were only 5 or 6 games out at the time. nintendogs,pilotwings,street fighter 4 and a few random others i cant remember.there was no resident evil game though :( so i ended up only getting pilotwings.the 3D effect is actually really good.I know when i was setting it up when i first turned it on i went "wow" when i looked at it
