We need a Omega/Ulfima type HNM that pops 1-2 weeks in any zone and drops the best gear.

I wonder what design from FF they'll have to go with anyways, the only reoccurring theme seems to be "SKELETON" and "SCARY AND STUFF"

Yeah, opted for that over the inconsistent mythology-inaccurate FF design. In each game it appears in, it changes appearance almost completely.

As far as boss monsters go, I'd like to see a new 18-man HNM version of the Shadow Lord... one that cant be cs/stun zerged, and one that doesnt take some HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE pre-reqs for a 6 person campaign op.

The Grendel from the novel The Legacy of Heorot by Larry Niven, Jerry Pournelle, and Steven Barnes. The quote below is taken from wikipedia:
The autopsy leads to terrifying revelations. They are crocodilian in appearance and behaviour, complete with jaws that can crush steel. Their bones are significantly stronger than those of humans, as they are not based on calcium. They have a sense of smell better than a dogs.
