Out of curiosity, when using thief in battles are you able to keep the stolen item afterwards?

Trainer battles more specifically, I was wondering if you could just use Thief when doing the inverse battle on Route 18 to farm the BP items you would otherwise only obtain through battle maison.

No, they removed the ability to keep stolen items from trainer battles in Gen V. In Gen IV and prior you could.

IVs doesn't matter, I have 5/6 Male and Female Eevee, just need hidden ability so I can start Hidden Ability 5/6 Right Nature breeding for the Eevee Tournament.

I've gotten a Seadra after 32 catches, and a Relicanth after 9 lol. It's just odd. :x

My first time really doing it i got to about 30 before i got a "No fish" message (even with Suction cups).
second time it took me 69 attempts and i got a really sh*tty Poliwhirl lol. But yah. it varies... a lot.
