Pretty much every Zombie movie ever, it's one of the reasons I'm such a huge fan of the genre...
Is another one, and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes movies with a dystopian feel.
REC and Quarantine are another 2 good horror movies with that feeling.
There's a few more too, I'm a huge fan of the disaster genre so I've seen quite a few :D

Not sure what you are asking... the thread is titled without predictable endings but the OP asks not happy endings
There was a movie I watched like ~10 years ago, called "Fallen," with Denzel Washington, in which a somewhat surprise ending also meant the good guy didn't win.
It was such a deviation from normal movie guidelines at the time, that representatives from the studio actually stood outside with surveys asking our opinion when we walked out.

Oh and the Sixth Sense the first time I saw it did actually shock me.
