Air is on my 'to watch' list, been trying to find a solid quality stream, which is a pain cus its fairly old.
I don't think I went to this site to watch Air, but I usually go here. Poof Edit: Oh, and don't watch the 13th episode, it's like an awkward summary or some crap. The Summer special episodes1&2 at the end I didn't like, but it goes a bit deeper into the feudal era characters.

I love Toradora, I tried really hard to get my friend to watch it. But she's lazy and doesn't want to read subs, and I'm like ~.~

Also, just looked in my cabinet. I really liked Escaflowne, but it seems hit and miss. My friends liked it, but I've talked to other people and they absolutely HATE it. It's really old, the style takes getting used to, but I thought it was good.

Escaflowne animation irks me....although i quite liked it overall.

Hmm thanks for the link.

>< i'd say tell her to learn japanese but thats even more effort.

The new hellsings (ultimate) are closer to the manga than the series. Also a bit darker imo - i prefered them.

They really need to finish making the Hellsing OVAs... and releasing the finished ones in english...

Also Gantz!!! They just released a live action movie for it too

I liked gantz. Shame the live action looks abyssmal.

HOTD(Highschool of the Dead)
Hourou Musuko (ongoing, 6 epds out)
Amagami SS

Liked amagami, watching hourou.
HOTD is too little plot, too much exposure, too little humor~ so not my sorta thing.

Even a bigger shame the anime didn't go on as long and completely got away from the manga at the end.

Idk from what I saw the live action didn't look so bad... but in order to get lower ratings and more famous actors they had to tone it down alot. I mean ***if they were completely faithful to the series it would easily be NC-17 and would only get porn stars to do some of the parts...

My complain in Gantz is the current story arc right now.
man everything's so confusing!
They really could've made things more simple... like, the first phase of gantz.

I recently watch an older series, Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure, and found it to be extremely entertaining and worthwhile.

Not a whole lot of new stuff I have liked, although Beelzebub is hilarious and Kore Wa Zombie Desuka has had some good moments.

Also re-watching Great Teacher Onizuka and Shonen Junai Gumi becuase those are and always will be super special awesome in my heart.

Honestly with Break Blade (Broken Blade) for example, i've found that a lot of the time, OVA series like this are by far the best written, animated and with the most....enjoyable plots. As such, any OVA or movie series~ i'll happily take suggestions! haha

I agree the only bad part is they are often rather slow to release. I mean Hellsing Ultimate has been being released for how many years now?

Katanagatari was kinda like a mix between the 2. It kinda had an OVA feel with everything including being hour long episodes and only released once a month at best but was 1 hour (minus commerical time) episodes instead of variable and semi regular releases

Tough to ask for an anime and expect some real hard-hitters. I have strange tastes in anime.

Recently saw the first Digimon series subbed. Blew my ***' balls off. 'Sgewd; maybe the best imo. Memorable music, story, character development.

Mahou Sensei Negima is... quirky... <.< >.> HAREM. More focus on humor and character development, but there are some battles. I usually have bias against English dub, but I actually like Negi's voice. Series is later redone and taken in a different direction as Negima!? with a more... shonen approach. MOAR ACTION. MOAR DARKNESS.

Keroro Gunsou. Main focus is parody-based humor. If you're one of those people that likes to be able to finish a series, this might not be the anime for you. 350+ episodes and counting iirc. Probably the funniest anime I've encountered. :o

Hajime no Ippo(Anime about boxing but man is it epic, story is rather entertaining, animated beyond belief sometimes since its so detailed, and its absolutely hilarious.)
One Piece(Yeah kinda cliche but if your gonna get into one of the main stream animes it should be this one since its the only one with a good story and characters who aren't all the same boring crap you've seen over and over)

As for anime movies
Lupin the 3rd(Green Vs. Red, The Last Job, and like all of 20 more of them lol)
Grave of the Firelies(Notorious for making any grown burly man break down in tears for days on end its that impacting.)

Theres like a million more good ones but I've seen so much anime its hard to remember which ones were truely amazing and which were just plain good.

I would suggest Haibane Renmei, a 13 part series. It had excellent animation, character development, and good music. Similar in many ways to Angel Beats.

One piece is far too shallow for me.
Hajame No Ippo, animation quality is too poor for me, as in, old i guess.

Lupin the same.

GOTFF.....already seen >< then again, who hasnt?

Seen mahou, not bad not great. Seen digi - too shallow. Not a parody fan in that sense.

You've seen Umineko no Naku Koro ni? Have you seen Higurashi no Naku Koro ni? It's by the same author, it's pretty good too.

Above all, though, I would highly recommend reading the Umineko no Naku Koro ni visual novels. Seriously.

In my opinion, these VNs trump ALL other series I have ever watched (Japanese and English!) in terms of storyline. The anime pales in comparison.

Words cannot do it justice. I will say that at is AT FIRST a really hard read (it starts off boring) but when the murders start it picks up quickly. The VNs just go into so more depth than the anime does.

It is hard to describe this series without sounding too fanboy-ish, but if you have the time investment (the total length of Episodes 1-6 is twice the length of War and Peace) you can download the first arc demo online and see how you like it. It's like a mystery fan's wet dream.

It's not an anime though, so if you're looking for strictly anime then this wouldn't fit the bill :P

Love it. Brutal, unforgiving and not aimed at children....first good magical girl anime i've ever seen.

Higurashi plot WOULD have been good if it wasnt played out with glorified stickmen loli's. REALLY killed it for me.

Love Umineko tho, and while i'd love to have a try on the visual novels, that medium doesnt do much for me sadly.

This, times a billion. I've read a lot of VNs, (somewhere up in the 150s) and Umineko outshines all of them, it truly is a masterpiece. Higurashi is pretty a pretty good VN too, but I haven't read the English version. Also, if you can't read Japanese, Umineko's fansubbers (The Witch Hunt) are EXCELLENT, it's hard to translate a Japanese mystery story into English, as the game's main riddle contains a few Japanese word tricks, or, rather, character tricks, and they incoporated that in their English translation, it was almost perfect, and has only needed one revision, if you play it, you'll understand why I praise them so highly and give them a lot of credit, actually it's them that has made it possible for all the English speakers to play/discuss the game (the thread on anisuki has gotten enormous) So yeah, definitely check it out, even if it doesn't run like an anime, and reads more like a book, it'll get you into the story, and you won't be able to stop reading...

Addendum: I forgot, the music is insanely awesome too, if you love music, that's just another reason to read.

Another fan! -high fives-

It's alright though, it is a bit of a timesink before the payoff starts. Witch-Hunt is great, though, for the translation.

The music kicks ***, like Vahriel says.
