Note: Lion King is awesome, but Ponies are the new thing. As for those who can't watch it because they like Adult-oriented cartoons.... if you can force yourself to watch it you'll (most likely) love it, if you can't then I suppose there's not much I can do for you. It's a really well thought out production, and nothing like Pokemon. Pokemon (animated) is kinda meh and sometimes dumb (I still watch it though) and the character development is minimal.

And tbh, I'd rather watch this that "adult cartoons". I think I could explain this to real people better by saying it's a surprisingly well written and thought out production, than I could explain watching animated soft-core porn. How do you explain that? "Well, it has boobs".

(I don't actually watch anime, porn or otherwise, I actually hate the ***and find it beyond boring, I would still rather explain to my friends or brother that I watch x-rated anime rather than My Little Pony)

Even though guys are expected to watch porn... a lot of people associate watching hentai with the whole 'forever alone' stigma. If I were a man, I'd rather admit to watching MLP! :c

The first episode is far more serious, tbh. There's a lot more quirky humor thrown around after the pilot.

Yeah, I assume that too. Most of the male ponies shown after those two aren't dumb. There's a few males in the wonder-bolts which is a very prestigious flying group.

I dunno, I just think that when you start watching animated porn, especially regularly, that you've hit the absolute epitome of geekdom. And not in a good way, but in a complete basement dwelling way. Maybe I'm wrong, but hey, anything I watch, I watch for the story/plot/etc. if I want porn, I watch porn, but don't try and confuse the two.
Anyway, enough derailing. Spicy, you're right, there was Apple Buck's brother or something, and maybe Pinky Pie's dad before those two came along, but they were both basically cameo appearances. In fact, Apple Buck's brother/father/w/e seems a bit simple as well. I should probably be offended that something targeted at young girls portrays men as retards, but eh, I think it's funny.

I usually don't pull the maturity or man card on stuff, but this is really pushing it. I honestly think I may appreciate it if I had kids, though, and was watching it with them. Then I'd view it on a level of content and not basis. If that makes any sense.

What's the huge appeal of this on these forums? I guess mostly it's just a throw-back to cartoons I used to watch growing up, as opposed to most of the ***that's out these days. So if you can't let yourself reminisce and enjoy a cartoon that's targeted at an audience 20 years younger than you, then you're probably not going to like it. There's certainly nothing wrong with that though.
The only reason it has such a huge appeal in these forums in particular, is because Niniann has been posting meems (awesome meems) of it every second thread and making people curious enough to give it a go.
