Everyone loved TMNT and Power Rangers. Those were also corny. It's entertainment we knew and loved. Nostalgia?
Tis true, since I've been randomly watching Pokemon Season 1 lately too and that is just way too corny as well.

Might watch more at a different time and give it a few more episodes (how many episodes is it so far, out of curiousity?)

21 episodes have aired so far, and I can confidently tell you the first two episodes that made up the pilot weren't all that great. I'd guess Lauren Faust wanted to focus primarily on introducing the main characters (these are the only two episodes with Princess Luna). There are a couple episodes that involve the "Cutie-mark Crusaders" that are "meh" as well.

My personal favorites are "Applebuck Season", "Swarm of the Century", "Winter Wrap Up", "Sonic Rainboom", and of course "Feeling Pinkie Keen".

Yeah, I agree. ;; I just love how much straw and sticks and stuff she pulls out of the tiny nest too. xD
