It doesn't even have to be anything amazing for me. I almost always ruin the surprise somehow or at least drop hints. -_-;

Hey skull I'm thinking about picking up a rifle to add to the collection was looking at a win .30-30. We've got a lot of boars where I live in tx so that would be my main game. Think it would be a good investment or should I go with a .308 or 30/06?

first, lemme say, love winchesters and i so want a lever action SO BAD but I don't need it and I would have way too much fun with it.

tbh, i would go 30-30 or 308. 308 is a good bullet and widely available, 30-30 is time and tested.

so i would choose 308 as long as the gun was not much more costly than the 30-30 you were thinking of.

i just made decision that i will not get a mossberg AR but a S&W due to better construction, easier to clean (my god I love easy tool-less take downs), american (MERICA), and just over all a better gun, tho costing 150-200 bucks more, i think i can deal with that for a better quality of shooting.

I'm also terrible at keeping secrets for gift giving.
It's to the point where I just go up to the person and say like "I'm getting you this. Expect it in a week or two."
