I think the word you are looking for is individuality. That's what makes us unique. Imagine for a moment if we were drones with all our intelligence and abilities but without the individuality to question or dispute instructions. Imagine how much faster we would progress.

That's exactly the example I wanted to use, but I doubt Seha is familiar with Borg >.> would prolly think it's a scandinavian rock band lol. But yeh, I wonder if the Borg were based on ants? They share the hivemind structure and sharing of information via chemical processes (or cybernetics for Borg). It's amazing.
All of this reminds me of The Qun from the Dragon Age games.
Only thing ants are superior than us is lifting capability and maybe perception(not sure), we are more than capable of doing things as a group as they do, building towns, make formations, working as a group, but we do more. I understand the awe you may feel in some animals, but that's not a reason to undervalue humans. I hate humanity, but right now, on this planet, we are the pinnacle of evolution.
Meh I only meant the efficiency of creatures that are not inhibited in there ability to perform by emotions, that all perform to one single purpose. There would be no war, no conflict, no need for tribunals or councils, just progression with nothing to halt it.
That's not true, Ina just said ants wage wars to steal newborns lol. Wars exist in the animal kingdom within the same species just like in our realm. Should we know better? Absolutely, but they're not above us in that regard, we just suck for not being past it.

The borg would be a terrible example as they never progress further than that which they can assimilate... they lack any kind of creativity or culture... they do not advance in tech other than to assimilate and incorporate what another civilization has already developed... It's possible you could argue that they use a small portion of that tech more efficiently but even then... in the end they always lose because they lack humanity... they lack the capability to think outside the box and reason... not to mention they destroy,assimilate and enslave anything they come into contact with... yes something to strive for...
but ultimately as I stated they create nothing themselves... they advance only on the backs of others... the borg are parasites...
