Women consider being a jerk to be manly in most cases. Women like manly. Manly men also tend to come off as not needing said woman. Therefore, women want men that are manly and don't appear to need them.

I shouldn't have said it as if I meant ALL women, huh? And it usually only applies to the ones that you're not dating yet.

I'm not really a fan of that type of women, though. I finally managed to find one that has a definition of manly that doesn't involve treating them badly.
