Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?
Lol Leon made everyone paranoid now!

They only need to be based on what class you are (attack skills for offensive classes, magic for mages, protecting skills for knights, etc.). dangerously furry? sounds like my kind of race :P I'll see if I have some time later to send you a pm leon
I don't get it. What's the point of classes at all if they have no special characteristics?
I thought the new system just meant that you can associate to your main class abilities of choice from other classes(like FFTA), instead of having a bunch of abilities of all similar classes. Bismarck.Lillica said: » "Me brakes no work good, make loud noise, SKREEE SKREEE. You make brake better?"
cant decide if i should restart ff14 or get gw2 when new laptop arrives /sits in corner under a blanket /leers
never did like the old DQ battle system just seemed lazy imo
I'm itching to play FFXIV when 2.0 comes out. However, based on player testimony and despite the massive improvements, it is debatable if it's worth paying to play.
Guild Wars 2 however, is F2P, and from what I can tell looks really good, and has great lore and a sublime soundtrack. I say try GW2 first, and wait a little bit for major patches and fixes to come for whatever XIV is going to introduce, because we can count on it being broken upon release. I thought the new system just meant that you can associate to your main class abilities of choice from other classes(like FFTA), instead of having a bunch of abilities of all similar classes. The classes are what they've learned to do; the abilities are how they put that knowledge to use. Example: You want a tank character, so you have Paladin (MP-based abilities, defensive protection), Dark Knight (HP-based abilities, mixed protection) or Samurai (MP-based abilities, offensive protection) as your choices. Say you choose Paladin; your character would have high HP, MP, DEF, and MDEF. Under the old system, you'd have set abilities, like Provoke, Cover, Protect, etc. Under the new system, you get to choose what Paladin-based abilities you have. Instead of Cover, you could have Divine Shield with a unique animation, even though they have the same effect. Or you could still have Cover, except it would have a different effect than the original. EDIT: I'll try to make a clear post explaining it better in a sec. ._. Hey Leon, just so I am understanding right, I can now choose to be a Beastcaster/Gunslinger? :3
Beastlinger.

There's so many BS mob mechanics it doesn't mater how fast your reactions are when you're stuck in an attack animation you die because you can't move. Undead in every zone 55+ and the mob placement was just infuriating. I enjoyed it until I hit 55, then it was zone after zone of undead. Trying to get to the next area? Snare. Knockdown. Pullback. Slow. Snare. Pullback. Snare. Snare. Snare. Then add in undead that run and swim at 300% speed makes you want to punch your monitor. I've been hearing positive things from a couple JP about the 14 alpha. I'm looking forward to 2.0 Phoenix.Sehachan said: » Beastlinger. Beestinger - A four hit low damage attack with a high critical hit rate. Siphoned from Bee class enemies. Okay, so it's not necessarily a gun move but for the purpose of my character, it could be. :3 Bismarck.Dreadnot said: » Asura.Chuuuuu said: » cant decide if i should restart ff14 or get gw2 when new laptop arrives /sits in corner under a blanket /leers GW2 got old reeeeally fast. It's just 1 area :|! and a weapon, they wanted me to spend an additional 25 dollars for more areas. Why don't they just make the games 80 dollars instead and include a full game, is there some kind of rule that it has to be 60? I don't believe they couldn't get those areas in the game before they had to combine it all. I said no! Dx I'll give in a day or two though. I've been asking/talking about AC3 for 6mo straight. For my bday I got a new computer desk (which I love though I didn't ask for it..its so thoughtful)...can't figure out if they got my AC3 also or if I need to send out a non-sick member of my household out with my debitcard to go buy it for me..and nobody will tell me!
so Im sitting here at 1 in the afternoon, sick as all get out and nothing to do..everybody else is at work for the most part...somebody answer my texts..do I need to go buy the game myself? /first world problems/ Leon Kasai said: » I hope this explains everything more clearly. ;-; Forgot to mention; Callers can design their summon spirits however they want; elements, attacks, appearance, etc. But they are just 1-hit-wonders like Summons in the earlier FF games. Evokers can't choose theirs, but they will (hopefully) act like Aeons in FFX. have to pick up Assassins creed Liberation, Zone of the Enders HD collection CE and Ragnarok Odyssey CE tomarrow ._.
So you're not creating abilities for the game and leaving it up to personal choices? In that case you could very well reduce the amount of classes as they seem nothing but archetypes to me.
Let the man design his game already people >.>
Siren.Kalilla said: » I have no idea what that means, I'll google it. Basically up can buy (lets use Borderlands 2 for example) a game with the season pass at a set price and you get access to all future DLC that comes out later. still casually playing GW2, post 80 seems... more of a grindfest than actually getting to it, got 2 charas (elem-ranger) to 80 and working on my 3rd, Necromancer.
as Dread said, undead mobs suck, and lategame maps are filled with them :/ havent made a profile so I'll work on that since im bored? [edit:] I'll just import my D&D [meshi's campaign] chara and adjust Ramuh.Sagittario said: » Let the man design his game already people >.> Phoenix.Sehachan said: » they seem nothing but archetypes to me. Especially in the cases of people who don't want to design all of their abilities themselves; it gives me a direction to take the character. So instead of somebody having an Archer and me just seeing "they shoot bows", they can have Sniper and I'll be "they want to inflict heavy damage with bows" or Hunter and I'll see "they want to inflict status ailments with bows". It also allows the player the same insight at a glance rather than having to play the character to find out what kind of Fighter or Archer they are.
