It is either your graphics card overheating/wearing out or the drivers for your graphics card have become severely corrupted. If you have any kind of temperature monitoring software on your pc, load it and watch your GPU temp to see if it indeed is overheating.

Can be software related, because in safe-mode not all of your GPU drivers are loaded. Only the bare minimum required to give you a picture are loaded, thus the corrupted files are most likely not ever being used.

If your GPU temps are fine (most GPU's danger-zone is anything over 90C, but as high as 80C could cause that depending on the age of your card) then I'd re-download the newest drivers for your GPU and completely wipe all traces of your currently installed ones (easiest to do in safe-mode).

Edit~ Damn, I'm slow. Reading your last few posts, If it happens then happens again on reboot, it could be the fail-safes of the card activating again, but it's hard to tell at the moment. I want to say it is hardware related (like Serj said), but there is a slight possibility it is still software. When it happens and you go to reboot, does it happen again choosing a normal boot or does it happen if you chose safe-mode as well (During boot)?

I'll use CrystalDiskInfo and keep an eye on it then.

If I choose safe mode it's completely fine.

criminal minds on season 8 >< ncis on season 10 >< BBT on season 6 ><

and you're just like, screw it...too much effort.

Hmmm, safe mode doesn't automatically rule one out over the other, since (like Serj said again) your GPU doesn't work anywhere near as hard in safe mode. Go ahead and try a fresh install of your drivers and see if it persists in normal boot (just use safe mode with networking to get them and uninstall/install). If it still happens after a complete wipe of your existing drivers then I'd definitely start looking at a new card.

You might be able to prolong your card by re-applying the thermal paste on it, but that would be up to you and would be no guarantee that it would help if the GPU already has heat damage. This is assuming it's an overheating problem.

I never have personally. A while back (quite a few months) my friend got me into Stargate SG-1 by watching an episode from like season 6ish while I was at his house. I managed to catch up to him in about two or three days, but I did nothing except watch Stargate for those few days.

Video Card: 512 MB RAM, ATI Radeon 4850 or higher, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT or higher

I got a shitty HP laptop for $800. I didn't do any research at all. cuz I was in a rush cuz my last laptop had some hardware failures and the warranty just expired.

But this one has an integrated graphics card but it'll run FFXIV and GW2 at acceptable settings and runs pretty smooth.

So if you're just looking for something to play old games and FFXI you can probably find a laptop for around $500 or so that should be sufficient

if you want a desktop then i'd say go for quality and get the top of the line stuff.
