What a goddamn lovely way to start the day.

I get woke up cuz my cell phone is ringing, but don't answer it cuz I never do. Everyone knows to just text me, so I figure it's just more telemarketers. A minute or so later there's a knock on my door and my grandma is bringing me the phone. It's my wife and our car is broken down. Mother ***. Like we needed yet more car troubles.

She says car smelt like it was burning rubber or something and that she had it floored but that the car just wouldn't go that fast.. Like it's floored and she's doing 20MPH.

So I go down there and tow it back to the house with Grandma's car.. Something is wrong because I'm flooring Grandma's car and doing 20 now.. Granted I don't expect to be zipping around with a fairly large car in tow, but Grandma's car is a Grand Marquis, which is a V8... Plenty of power to tow a car in neutral.

We get it back to the driveway and go to push it the rest of the way up and it just won't budge. I try to push it down the slope just to see if something is locked up like I have a feeling it does.. Nope, not even down hill will it budge.

Googling tells me there are 2 likely causes. One is the brakes, the other is going into the expensive side of things, transmission/differential and ***.

The only good news is I went outside to feel all the wheels (because if the brakes are locked up, then those wheels should be pretty damn hot from being towed home anyways) and I burn my hand on one of the wheels. So signs point to a brake problem. However it's common occurrence in my life for everything to point towards the cheap/easy fix, only to turn out to be the most expensive fix.

Had a weird nightmare that involved vampirism.
Except it was extremely bloody and tragic; none of that sparkly Twilight ***.
I still feel uneasy even though I already woke up.

Dang Slip :-( I hope the car turns out to be ok.

Are you going to describe your dream in the dream thread Art? I'm morbidly curious!

WD-40 the emergency brake cable and work it back and forth several times. It's stuck.

I only recall bits and pieces, but my inner writer can fill in the gaps fairly well and put together a lackluster story, but it's kinda lame, yet somehow felt extremely personal and tragic.

But to paraphrase, it started with me traveling with friends, one of which I was somewhat involved with/dating. Under some strange circumstance I ended up being bitten by a bat, and regardless of medication or bandage application, I could feel the pain linger.

So I do my best to carry out plans with my friends and loved one, only to have her suddenly leave a message of her departure right when we're all going to party, or something.

So by the time nightfall came, I felt the worst and most potent combination of loneliness and bloodlust. From that point on it was sheer ultra-violence; but the worst part being was my conscience was feeling and viewing all of the happenings in third person and having virtually no control. All I could do was sit and watch myself tear everybody including my friends apart while the one I cared about essentially left me (perhaps they knew?).

I woke up after that, but I still feel that lingering loneliness, and aftermath of witnessing my own bloody murders and not being able to control or stop it.

I want to try Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred videos, because, well, I can. But I'm already considered underweight, and so if I work out apparently I'm supposed to be weight training, but I don't like weight training. *petulant sulk*

So if I do a workout designed to make people lose weight but I don't have weight to lose, what does it do? Does it do nothing at all? Does it make me healthier in other areas, like heart rate and respiratory? Does it build muscle even without the emphasis on weights? Or will it burn the extra body fat I have, like my triceps jiggles and back-thigh dimples and boobs?

/comfort

I hate weights too! God how I hated inclines!

You can always do what those yucky boys to and make those GNC protein whatevers, then work out, then look like an inhuman-bubble-blob. LOL! IDK.

I just stopped caring about the willowiness and barely there boobs. There's nothing that's going to help it. Just do whatever exercise makes you feel good. Running and yoga are...well, were mine. I really need to start yoga again. Both will help with the thighs and calves at least.

Oh gosh, I could never be all muscle bulges. I can barely handle super-muscled guys, much less super-muscled girls! Although of course it's their body and they should make it look how they like for themselves. They are healthy.

I loved yoga in college! I never did get into running though. :-( It's so good for the body! I didn't like it when I was younger because my side would always get a sharp pain, but I think everyone has that. Not much of an excuse really. Then after several years of doing plies wrong in ballet, my knees are a couple of whiny pansies so I am now just plain scared to run. I should try to get into it, maybe try jogging and work up from there.

LOL! Ugh! They're all super scary, right? Toned is good.

Me too! Holy crap! Last time I did yoga I switch positions and two of my lower ribs on my right side just jutted out! I was squirming around like a worm on my back. I think I just messed it up when I was overly competitive with one friend in HS. I get crazy pain in my side too though.

Same with my knees. Just wrap your knees before you run. You may want to wrap your shins in the winter too. Last year I had the worst shin splints when I ran. I think point *** the tendons in my feet up too! I have a spasm once in a while where if I flex my foot the wrong way, there is a sharp pain that lasts for a couple of minutes in the inner part of my foot from the ball to the heel.

I think ballet did a number on us. :/

Slip, my car had a similar issue a few months back where I would floor it and it would only go up to 10-15 mph and the engine would bog down really bad, ended up being the MAF sensor so might see if you can get a computer and run diagnostics

Oh that is such a scary dream! /comfort.

I just got done reading a Dean Koontz book and your dream reminded me of it, it involved a demon possessing people and making them do things they couldn't bear to do. Well, some of the possessed people liked it because they needed an excuse to be horrible, but anyhow. It was called "What the Night Knows." Good stuff!

Ballet is just not good for people! I don't know what anyone was thinking. "Oh, let's make the dancers dance in completely unnatural positions because the lines look pretty! Think of the lines!" Oh man lol. I'll give the knee-wrap idea a try!

Should start the "I had a dream and then wtf" thread. Could probably get a good compilation of creepy intros/stories to fit the soon to be Halloween mood.

I just went to look to see how I could even get to that cable (on my first car it was just dangling there next to the exhaust system but this is a 2003) pulled the brake up and let it back out and now the car is rolling normally in neutral. Still gotta fix this problem, but at least it's more evidence that this is a brake problem. Everything I googled around said that if the car sat for awhile and then would roll normally that it was brakes.

I won't lie, I would go into a thread named that prepared to explain what a wet dream was to some kid starting puberty.
