Not 100% sure how he is getting his nets, but if they are using the satcom crap then he is basically running on a 256k connection that is split between something like 4 networks of various classifications, with only the smallest basically leftover amounts going towards personal usage.
Edit - I forget the terms and actual bandwidth but basing that off what they use on the ships.

Well I've been struggling to get back into playing FFXI anymore. Most of the friends I've made quit while I was in training or deployed. Only recently did I start up despite this hilarious connection. (3sec delay on any action in game)
I generally would log in, level NPC, log out. EP mobs I can manage; I even tanked a few seal NM's for my 2box SMN :3
Sadly I have no confidence in +2 NM's and I can't do anything that requires time (like Dynamis) due to rocket attacks :( Already lost out on a few seal parties thanks to them lol.
Just thinking about the fact I could have done Dynamis every day with Thf/Dnc+Whm/Sch since April... so much currency D:! Ah well. Maybe when I get home it will maintain being more enjoyable than GW2.
