Shoot, I thought dex was the primary. I do have double melded felt bracers with 29 dex waiting on me to get higher up though.

Pretty sure XI is the only MMO that makes you gear swap the way it does anyways lol

Used to be before they added the combo system, but that was a long while back.

Oh, I didn't realize they changed the primary stat entirely. Means I'll have to use a stone to redo my points, so I can change it to 1 piety over dex (though I suppose that's not THAT huge a deal).

Either way, I appreciate it. I'll have to start looking for piety materias to meld to bodies...ugh. Any suggestion for a good base body? I'm guessing Felt Bliaud (LOL)?

*yawn* Think Imma go back to bed for an hour or so...

Pretty sure mine is +1 with a double meld cuz taru.

After all my crap luck, I finally got 2 crafters to double meld two items for me in a row. I was ecstatic lol. I have 11 str/vit double meld felt trousers now for my DDs and I got those dex+29 felt bracers now. I'm in pretty decent shape atm.

There are many spots for improvment but currently using
Serpent Sergent Bow (with sanction as much as possible
Rainmaker's tunic double melded with piety IV + III (+30)
Felt Kecks double melded Pie/mnd IVx2 (+14)
AF Feet
Felt Bracers double melded attack IV + III (+46)
Paragon's Crown with sanction down, grid officers cap with it up (I'm not actually sure how these balance out)
Electrum gorget +1
Tourmaline braclets
Spinal ring +1
Tourmaline ring +1
Explorer's earring

I don't do much endgame so if you do you will probably need more dex/acc then I do.
For the weapon garuda would be an improvment, if your ul'dah your gunna want your lt bow, not sure how other bows rank.
Pants would idealy be dex/str and I'd switch my dex ring to a Pie ring which is on my todo list
Hands I've seen some people say attack and other dex so dex gloves are on my todo list as well for higher end stuff since they add some acc.
Feet would be upgraded by darklight boots
Not sure on other head options

You can macro your gear like this, but if you are constantly needed the af boost you will probably do better to full time itI think Austar plays brd as well so she can give you better advice then I can if she hasn't already. I've only been parsed once so don't know how I compare

Edit: as mentioned harness is better then rainmakes, I got mine back when brd's stat caps were really low from ifrit/moogle bow.

Watch the wards like a hawk, I managed to get the body I have for 800k (would normally be looking at 2-3mil on my server), same kidna thing with my gloves. I'd have improved and then resold them at a profit but my luck with melds is sucky XD

Alot of people think that dex is brds primary not pie so sometimes they toss up a pie body thinking its worthless for a low ammount

This is the set up I use for brd, might start working melding some DEX pants and making attack bracers but this set up works pretty well until I can be bothered to finish leveling pld and mnk for my crown :<

I think you might be better off upgrading your bow then swaping your dex hands to attack... Ifrits and moogle bows were randomly made weaker than their melee counterparts but Sergent/LT and garuda's bows were all brought up to around the same level.

Ifrits is stronger than Garuda's Bow.

Only bows better than Ifrits are the new Skirmish bow, the LT bows and of course Relic.

Edit:

The reason ifrits is stronger than Garudas is Light Shot damage is determined by your Base damage instead of DPS, which is a pretty big portion of Bards over all damage.

Well I'm 27/40 totems either way for Garuda's Spine~ I don't know how that ended up at an odd number >.>;
Ifrit's is just there until that happens lol

edit: just saw gradds post, I'll just get Garuda's beak instead when I have totems then :3

Ifrits is stronger, invest into something else than the bow, if your wanting a stronger bow than ifrits Invest into a GC LT bow or the new Skirmish one.

Also general rule of thumb for Stats.

Cap Acc >>> Cap Main/Secondary stats >>> Worry about attack/other stuff.

Stat caps generally sit around 350 for main, and 310 for secondary. I know PLD has a much lower cap but I can't remember the exact number.

Say for example I got the Skirmish bow, what would one meld onto it~?
