Random Thoughts.....What Are You Thinking?

They have a little boy about the same age as my son.

A few weeks back, the mail carrier found him wandering up and down the sidewalk. When she asked where he lived, he brought her to my house. So, I hear knocking on the door, and when I open it, she asks if it's my kid. (At the time, I wasn't 100% sure he was the kid from next door.) Before I can even say no, the kid says, "Hi Mommy!" to me, pushes his way in, and sits on the step next to my front door.

So, the woman delivering the mail helps run to the neighbors' house and tries asking if their kid is missing. At first they say no, then they double-check and realize that yes, he is. So I let the woman in (because by this point, the kid has helped himself to the roomful of toys) and she gets the kid and apologizes, telling me she works third shift and her 13 year-old nephew was supposed to be keeping an eye on him while she slept, and saying he'd been trying to get into my house for a while, probably because he knew I had a dining room with toys all over it. (I'm assuming, aka hoping, he just noticed the room one of the many times I've heard him run up on my front porch while playing.)
