Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?

And I'm 28, wanting to go BACK to college and basically start it all over. >_> My last degree didn't really do anything for me, and odds of that changing are slim. At least it didn't cost me anything. They're worried about things like drinking without their parents finding out. I'm worried about things like my mortgage. It's completely different xD I can't connect with classmates. Caitsith.Zahrah said: » Alexander.Drokin said: » You guys are talking about being 22/23 graduating college, like it makes you old... I'm afraid to ask...Was it a liberal arts major, general business, social work....something like that? /cringe Bismarck.Cicada said: » To take a nap or not.. that is the question. It was Computer Science, but only an Associate's. And my particular school didn't offer anything higher. Without going on to another school or doing an internship (which I missed out on ; ; ), it kind of just left me stuck. Have you ever thought of upping it to a bachelor's?

Why not go back? So Dread, that girl last night.. was she.. your girlfriend? ;)

Why not go back? I'd love to. But now I'm not sure if I'd want to do CS or Engineering. I just want to do whatever is going to be the most fun. Problem comes up when you factor in all the other stuff. Right now, I work full-time. Mortgage payment. Car payment. Utilities, etc. Insurance (me and more specifically, my son). And child support. Which is about to go up, almost double, to the point that I've got to consider a second job just to get by. Odin.Tsuneo said: » Have you ever thought of upping it to a bachelor's? Yeah, but just doing that requires that I basically start over. Very few of the courses I took cover the prerequisites for anyone else's CS program, and my degree is only technically a CS degree. It actually has something about business management printed on it, even though, outside of accounting, the entire program was programming and system analysis. Once this semester ends I'll have my Bachelors in Information Technology with a minor in Business Management. Finally decided to finish out my Associates degrees lol. Then I get to start again in the spring working on my Masters, and thinking about finishing out my Bachelors in Electrical Engineering as well. Doctorate, here I come!
That sucks about having to start over. My community college has agreements with most of the colleges in the city of Philadelphia. Pretty much everything transfers.

If you weren't bitching about the sobek farming group so much last night you would have known that >.> Alexander.Drokin said: » You guys are talking about being 22/23 graduating college, like it makes you old... (And spending 4 years in college is better than 40 in retail hell imo. >.>) thats true i rather be a student for how ever long it takes so i can not be in retail for all my life lol ~.~;

Which is about to go up, almost double, to the point that I've got to consider a second job just to get by. I was wondering if your son lived with you or his mother. Why would child support double? How do they determine something like that? I ask, only because recently, one of my friend's husband's was doubled for both of his previous children outside their marriage. They file taxes separately now, so that her income stays within their family specifically. Keep in mind that it's just a means to the end. listening to Draco and Maria... I like~ never thought that song could sound.. badass~!
I did fast food once, and I got fat from working there. I lost like 70 lbs since like last august though. I just don't want to end up in that environment again.

You need Sobek pops dread?
When I had to get a second retail job that I hated just as much as the first, that's when I decided to go back. I knew I wasn't going to do any better, that I was stuck, unless I went back, so I did. It's a full schedule, but it'll be worth it in the long run.
I need to shake this depression cause this apathy makes it hard to give it my all in class.

I just don't want to end up in that environment again. Retail hurts too! That associate discount! Urgh! I spent too much money on clothes while working retail in college. Being the gal who passes out shots has its perks though! *** cs degrees. I'm a cs major atm. And I absolutely don't wanna end up as a programmer. What else can I do with it? (I got ideas but I want people's opinions)
I'll be thankful to land any kind of job at the moment. There's a private grocery chain here that treats its employees very well. Trying to get a job there and work my way up the ladder. In a couple years I -might- have enough money to go to college, but if I land a couple of promotions at this place I won't need too.
My living expenses are very low since I own my house with no mortgage. I can live off minimum wage for now. Just getting a job is tough here. |
