i didnt have a friend who introduced me. i played on my own and bought it when it first came out.

So you're writing about how you 'disposed' of the former tenant then invoked the law of squatters rights?

I sat down, daunted by the task of writing a narrative, I tried to gather my thoughts and push out the writer's block, it seemed impossible.

Then write a narrative on your first day on FFXI.

My first day was "How the *** do I move around? Stupid controls. /gives up"

I guess I was just lucky, I had watched my friend play several times over the period of a couple of years.. Actually, he was at my house when he pretty much first started.. He had gotten to level 5, then came here..

He screamed like a little girl when he was killing bunnies and he ran across an orc.

I had also messed around on his char a few times before I ever started playing.. Me and my wife also got to make our own character when we stayed the night at his house once.. Jizzmopper as I recall.

I started in Jan 04 and none of my friends had heard about 11 even though they liked Final Fantasy so I had no one to play with lol. Eventually got my friend to start and then his sister though >.>

I'll start you off

My first regret, upon successfully cruising through admission to explore the new world, was that the city I found myself in was situated atop a rather sizable hill. This meant that I found myself trudging up a winding hill, dripping sweat when it was only spring, feeling like I'd already done enough hiking for a lifetime. The fact that I'd have to embark on this uphill trek every day for the next few years depressed me deeply. Though if I stopped to think for a moment, lying in bed until the last second possible might just be the reason my legs were moving so quickly right then. Which meant that if I were to wake up ten minutes earlier, I'd be able to take a more leisurely pace, and the hike wouldn't be such a pain. Of course, once I factorized in how precious those last ten minutes of sleep were, I realized that waking up earlier was simply out of the question. This meant that I would be required to continue the morning workout , which depressed me even more.

ya my 1st day on ffxi was actually on fenrir, i played for a lil bit. i had a friend from yahoo messenger said he played and was showing me the orcs in the front of sandoria... he said he didnt mean for me to get killed lol and raised me. he then said he was quitting the game so i was on my own. then another friend on yahoo said he played and i went to bahamut but he quit and other ppl i knew did too. played there for about a year and decided to go try a diff server, ended up on gilgamesh. was there for the remainder of my game time.

My first day of ffxi was on Quetzalcoatl (I think, either that or Kujata back when you weren't able to pick your server) in Bastok back on initial release in 2003 (it's been so long, I don't even remember when the game was released. I feel so damn old now.)

I gave up after a week because, back then, my PC couldn't play FFXI well (mainly graphics card). So I gave up.

I first played FFXI to get close to this guy in high school I liked. He gave me a pass to Alexander, which was the server of my first character. He quit about a month after, and I was kinda stuck there, but I had some friends so I kept playing. Turns out the guy I liked was gay too. I found this out on Remora. >____> Anyway, I stopped playing XI because my boyfriend at the time wanted to play WoW.

Eventually started up again on Remora as Ninian because I simply had nothing better to do. I chose Remora because it was one of the newest servers (that and Diabolos), and Remora was the one that accepted Ninian as the name. >_>;

NA PC release! I first started on Seraph as a RDM. I thought it was a real person talking to me in the cutscene in Bastok Mines. I was reeeeeeally really shy back then so I was like 'omg what do I say!?!?'

It took me about 2 min.s to figure out how to move, and then I got lost on ore Street for 20 min.s as I kept running in circles on the 2 levels.

Then I found the gate guard and I got a signet. Had no idea what that did. I stumbled into Zer.Mines and wandered down the tunnel. My very first fight was with a bat. My first fight with said bat and the bat killed me. I hit homepoint and got lost on Ore street again.

FFXIII-2 has only been out for a month. Not even technically... NA release was 1/31/12.

i wanna tell a story too! lol i started playing cuz my rl friend was really into ff and wanted to play with me and some other guy online. this was on my original character i made with the name okami something lol my friend was a galka xD and he only played that once. He quit and left me to figure out the game myself. i made what i thought was a friend but i guess his gf didnt like him talking to me and chewed me out. being young i was like okay.jpg and quit lol

then a different friend wanted me to play and he gave me a buddy pass for seraph. He helped me name my character chuuuuu cuz it was our thing lol he had a 75 rdm and was soo cool back then :P then we stopped being friends then ff was never the same :P

Speaking of pokemon, so I heard there's an actual sequel coming out this year. Kinda excited, especially since it'll play on any DS system =D
