Me too! I mean you can't do a real BBQ without being drunk.. Even to those not drinking, it just won't taste the same.

Actually I should clarify that.. You have to be drunk and attentive.. I'm not sure why but my uncle would get drunk and BBQ all the time, but his ***is always burned, literally.. He's gone about 2 steps and a 6 pack past 'blackened'... Only time anything gets a char or burn with me is when I'm cooking multiple different meats and get the time estimates wrong <_<

He can cook one piece of meat and burn it til it's unrecognizable.

growing up my step dad could never cook something on the grill without burning the ***out of it. he's method of grilling? half a bag of charcoal, let it burn for about a hour til the coals are white hot. drop hamburger or steak on for one second til meat turns to charcoal. enjoy.

Well you can feel better you dad is a step above my uncle, the stuff I'm talking about, he'd cook for hours.. Yes, he managed to burn 90% of the surface of whatever meat he was cooking while cooking it 'low and slow'.. Pork spare ribs took him about 5 hours, (that's from when the meat hit the grill to when it was 'done') or chicken legs about 2-3 hours..

If you wanted brisket you might as well put in a 3 day advance reservation.

Ok question, I want to learn to play the guitar been a long time thing I've wanted to do, what's the best way to start learning on my own? any good sites that anyone can recommend? or just basically..?

I'd be learning on my brothers electric guitar since i'm so piss *** broke that I can't get a cheap acoustic :|
The way I learned is to just start tinkering around. However, as far as basics are concerned, what you should look into first would be the basic chord shapes, including E, A, D, G, C, F as well as barre chords and power chords. Also, you should start getting into picking exercises, particularly strumming on the strings using a figure 8 pattern.

This can help you get started.

Basically what magnus said. If you end up liking it, it also helps to learn scales and basic theory.

Also, I strongly recomend against getting a cheap guitar. If you like it save up for a bit and get a semidecent one. Something like a $80 costco guitar will last a year or 2 tops, and not play nearly as well as for example a $400 stratocaster which has lasted me 12 years and still plays well. This goes triple if you want to get an accoustic eventually.


Yeah i'm not going to buy one until I get the basics down, I'm sure my brothers electric should do fine until the time comes when I can buy either an acoustic guitar of my own or an electric.
