So maybe like 2-3 years ago I created a twitter account, because I wanted to figure out how to send someone a message (Penn Jillette). I was logged in for maybe a few minutes, never did figure it out, never clicked to follow anyone (maybe Penn I don't know remember).
Now I just got email from Twitter about just generic crap, like discover twitter or something. I don't remember my password, so it's not like I logged in or anything, and just clicked my account for the hell of it, and apparently I'm following 13 people and have 2 people following me.
Kinda weird.

That beetle eventually got remodeled into a Voidwatch beetle, however the knee injuries sustained still persisted as it wiped countless numbers of DD's farming for Athos's feet blithe mantles.

I think the 2 stalkers are just random spammers, but the weird thing is the 13 people it has me listed as following. Some of them I never heard of.

IMO twitter has always been a following tool for folks like us.
I'd use it to keep tabs on new activities from various music artists, seeing when they're on tour or if they release a new single.
For any regular joe to actually tweet things just makes it seem like this

but recently. the ceo of the company i worked for tried getting just a $2mil business loan and had to go through like 10 different banks before one would approve and their established credit line is really good

Unless you can convince investors you'll get a 20x return and have a perfect line of credit for a long passage of time and yield a ridiculous amount of interest on it, you probably can't D:
