You can send files. But as far as sending your signal to them so they can hear what you're playing, you'll have to mess with some recording sources and possibly even need some software that makes a false signal that can be picked up from third party apps like Skype or Ventrillo.
However, some music player software let you change what signal the music is played through thus allowing you to share the same signal as the one you record your voice on via Skype. Try fiddling with Winamp if you're patient enough, otherwise your best bet is google because the process of making it work is tedious and complex to say the least.
You can also screenshare with the invidiuals if you want to play the music for them? But otherwise for sharing music I'd suggest MSN (I know horrid right?), but Skype works just as well for sending files.
OH! I remember now.
Strangely whenever I was playing music while my headset was plugged in, any time I removed the mic cord from the soundcard, they were able to hear any/everything on my PC. Not sure if that's intended but it could work to your advantage.

Tread lightly, liches are a pain in the *** with ice spikes and blood drain.
Figured it out, just had to enable stereo mix in the control panel sound settings then put it as the default recording device in Skype settings. So they hear everything you hear plus voice :)

If you were stuck at level 50, depending on the job it would be.
I remember white mage soloing a long long time ago and every battle was long and intense, and ultimately was a battle of endurance.
I'm sure I'd find it an entertaining fight on PUP if I was level 50 again. I need to find a nice nm to solo soon I need that thrill again.
