The Nvidia has more memory, but the ATI has considerably more processing power. I am an ATI guy, but that's not why I'd recommend the ATI, I'd recommend it because of it's greater power.

I'd say the ATI card (hhhhnnnnnnnggggggggg) I'd rather the Nvidia since I've had better success with them but it looks like the ATI one has a slight edge over it.

Can underclock it to get it to run more stable.. I had to do the same thing for mine, it's years old and I've put it through hell and back. It's just gotta last like another 6 months then I can replace it <_<

I'd recommend the nVidia, even though it's an older card and I don't think it's worth that much money. VRAM is pretty important and the nVidia one has twice as much so...

Already done that. It's at the limit of feasible use. I live in a pretty dusty area and I have to clean out my PC every fortnight at least, meaning my GPU is overheating a lot.

I need to consider dust guards or whatever. It's lasted me a good two years of solid use, but I think it needs a change.

I'm at that point where I can't call my PC top of the line any more and it makes me a sad panda.

Yeah me too.. Mine was top of the line for a few months then my GPU started crapping out and I had to underclock it =/ Probably shoulda got a new card when I got a new tower, but the card seemed fine so I didn't see a reason to get one, now I regret that.

yeah solid state claim to be absurdly faster than the other types. I'm looking at other flash drives and flash memory and it's not really that fast. So somehow this type of solid state is someone amazing?
Well the difference is, SSDs use microchips to store data whereas HDDs use a spinning disc to read and write. You can imagine, I'm sure, what the benefits are.

I got a SSD in my laptop atm~ it shutsdown and boots up stupidly fast so I don't have to wait that 1min+ to wait for windows to shutdown etc so I can be on my way to class in a matter of seconds
